General terms and conditions of access and use of Småland
- Småland is open to children between 100cm and 135cm tall
- In accordance with the operating licence granted to the whole facility, children must be aged 3 or over
- Children must be independent, they must be able to communicate in a way that can be easily understood and they must be able to use the toilet on their own or wear a diaper (there are no baby changing facilities and IKEA co-workers do not help children go to the toilet.)
- IKEA reserves the right to refuse to admit a child if IKEA is of the opinion that this child does not fulfil these terms and conditions or admittance is not in the interest of this child or of other children at Småland.
- A parent or guardian who wishes to leave a child with IKEA co-workers at Småland must register this child. Only adults over the age of 18 are permitted to register a child. A parent or guardian who registers a child receives a wristband.
- A parent or guardian must provide all relevant information needed to ensure the wellbeing and safety of the child(1). This information will be processed by IKEA(2) in the interest and for the safety of the child and for the aforementioned purpose. IKEA ensures that all appropriate technical and organizational measures required to protect personal data from accidental or unlawful processing are taken. A parent or guardian is entitled to access and correct this personal data by contacting an IKEA co-worker working at Småland. The personal data will not be passed on to third parties and will be removed within three months of the child being registered at Småland.
- A parent or guardian must remain in the store as long as the child is registered at Småland.
- Only a parent or guardian with the correct wristband is permitted to pick up a child. The child cannot be picked up if this wristband cannot be presented.
- The maximum number of children permitted into Småland must not be exceeded under any circumstances.
- Children with special needs are welcome at Småland. For the wellbeing and safety of the child, all special needs must be explained to us before the child enters Småland. Parents and guardians understand and accept that IKEA co-workers are not trained to care for children with special needs and that IKEA can therefore not be held liable with regard to these special needs.
- In the event of an emergency that requires an evacuation, parents and guardians accept that IKEA co-workers will take all steps needed to evacuate children registered at Småland.
- Parents and guardians remain responsible and liable for their children at all times. IKEA cannot be held liable if a child is involved in an accident, regardless of the cause (including but not limited to a medical cause or the behavior of another child at Småland). The liability of parents and guardians towards IKEA for damage or loss caused by their children is unlimited.
- IKEA cannot be held liable for loss of or damage to clothing or any other item brought onto IKEA premises.
In the event of a breach of these general terms and conditions, IKEA reserves the right to take all necessary steps to protect the safety of the children and IKEA co-workers.
