Which app and hub do I use for my IKEA Home Smart?

The IKEA Home Smart app works with the DIRIGERA hub. The IKEA Home Smart 1 app is only for the TRÅDFRI connection hub. Only smart IKEA products are compatible with DIRIGERA.

Which app belongs to which hub? 

There are two apps and two hubs: 
You can't use the apps interchangeably with the other hub. 

Can I use my existing TRÅDFRI transfer system to DIRIGERA? 

If you already have a TRÅDFRI connection hub, the IKEA Home Smart‑app will guide you to set up your new smart home with DIRIGERA. 
Important to know: 
  • Your current IKEA Home Smart system with TRÅDFRI is stored locally 
  • The app linked to DIRIGERA has new digital functions 
  • After pairing your smart products with DIRIGERA, you'll need to set up new scenes 
With this change, you'll discover even more ways to get the most out of your smart home. 

Can I use products from other brands with DIRIGERA? 

No. Only IKEA smart products can be connected to the DIRIGERA hub and managed in the IKEA Home smart‑app. 
The range of smart IKEA products is designed to provide solutions for different needs in the home. IKEA is constantly developing new products. 

Do I always need a hub to connect the IKEA Home smart‑app? 

Yes. You need the DIRIGERA hub to: 
  • Use the IKEA Home smart‑app 
  • Connect the app with your IKEA smart products 
  • Use voice assistant integrations 
A hub or bridge from another brand does not replace DIRIGERA in combination with the IKEA Home smart‑app.
