Where in the house do I place the DIRIGERA hub?

From DIRIGERA hub must inside close to your Wi-Fi router:
  • connect the hub to a network cable with the router
  • place the hub on a flat surface or wall-mounted
  • avoid direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent overheating
The DIRIGERA hub is not suitable for outdoor installation.

How close to the hub do my smart products need to be?

For a stable connection:
  • the closest smart product should be within 10 metres of the DIRIGERA hub (range in open air)
  • each smart product extends the network, as long as it is within 10 metres of another smart product
This way, you gradually build full coverage throughout your home.

How do I set up the DIRIGERA hub and the IKEA Home smart app?

  • download the IKEA Home smart app from the App Store or Google Play
  • connect the DIRIGERA hub to your Wi‑Fi router using the network cable
  • follow the step‑by‑step instructions in the app to add the hub
  • add your smart products in the app and link them to rooms and scenes

Can I use multiple DIRIGERA hubs in one home?

Yes, but this feature is currently only available on iOS and will be rolled out to Android later.
You can add multiple DIRIGERA hubs in the IKEA Home smart app:
  • in the iOS app, go to Settings and select ‘Add a DIRIGERA hub’
  • set up the additional hub while you are connected to the same Wi‑Fi network as that hub
  • easily switch between your different hubs in the app
  • activate Control Anywhere so you can also access your hubs remotely

How do I update the hub, the app and my smart products?

  • The apps IKEA Home smart (for DIRIGERA) in IKEA Home smart 1 (for TRÅDFRI connection hub) can be updated via the App Store or Google Play.
  • The DIRIGERA hub, the TRÅDFRI connection hub and your smart products are updated automatically.
  • Keep your app up-to-date to enjoy the latest features.
