What are the IKEA return conditions for mattresses?
It is important to IKEA that you love your new mattress. If you realise within 90 days of purchase that your mattress is too firm, too soft or simply not right for you, you can return it and exchange it for another one.
1. Give your new mattress some time
Please note that your new mattress may initially feel a little too firm.
Allow at least one month so that:
- your body can get used to the mattress
- the mattress can adapt to your body
For optimal comfort, you also need the right pillow. Make sure that your pillow suits both you and your new mattress.
2. When can you exchange your mattress?
You can exchange your mattress within 90 days of purchase if you change your mind.
To qualify for an exchange:
- you must have followed the care instructions
- the mattress must not be soiled
- the mattress must not be damaged
3. How does the exchange work?
Bring your mattress together with your proof of purchase to an IKEA store.
After it has been checked by our Customer Service team, the value of the mattress will be refunded to an IKEA refund card.
You can then use this refund card to choose a new mattress.

Mattress exchanges are not available at IKEA Westbahnhof.
