Do I need a proof of purchase for returns and how will the refund be made?

For returns, the original receipt or proof of purchase is required. Refunds will always be made via the original payment method.

A return to the store is only possible with an original IKEA proof of purchase. Your order number is required for an online return. A refund will always be made to the original payment method.
For items purchased during a promotional period, the refund will be prorated, taking into account the promotional discount granted.
If you made your purchase in a store and you no longer have proof of purchase and the purchase was not registered with your IKEA Family account, the proof of purchase can be looked up using the following information:
  • Date of purchase
  • IKEA store where the purchase was made
  • Exact amount of the purchase amount
  • The last four digits of the card used (for payments made via digital wallets, these may differ from those of the physical card)
