Do I need proof of purchase for returns and how will I receive my refund?

For returns, the original receipt or proof of purchase is required. Refunds are always issued to the original payment method used.

Depending on whether you return an item to an IKEA store or online, different information is required for the return.

1. What proof of purchase do you need?

Return at an IKEA store

For a return at an IKEA store, you need an original IKEA purchase receipt.

Online return

For an online return, you need your order number.

2. How will you receive your refund?

A refund is always issued to the original payment method used.

Items purchased during a promotional period

If you purchased an item during a promotional period, the refund will be calculated proportionally.
The promotional discount applied at the time of purchase will be taken into account.

3. Can’t find your receipt?

If you made your purchase at an IKEA store, no longer have proof of purchase and the purchase was not registered in your IKEA Family account, the receipt may be located using certain purchase details.

Please have the following ready

  • the purchase date
  • the IKEA store where the purchase was made
  • the exact purchase amount
  • the last four digits of the card used
Please note: For payments made using digital wallets, the last four digits may differ from those shown on the physical card.
