How can I make a complaint about an IKEA product or service?

We’re sorry that you have a reason to make a complaint. For most IKEA products, the quickest way to receive a replacement is to visit an IKEA store. Different support applies to household appliances.

It doesn’t matter where in Austria you purchased your IKEA product. Depending on the product, you can either resolve your complaint directly at an IKEA store or contact us online.

1. Make a complaint about a product at an IKEA store

Bring the product or affected individual part to the Customer Service desk at any IKEA store.

Please bring proof of purchase

For example:
  • your invoice
  • your receipt
  • or your delivery note
You can then receive the appropriate replacement product at the store.

2. Can’t visit an IKEA store?

If you’re unable to visit an IKEA store, you can also submit your complaint online.

3. Is your complaint about an appliance?

For appliances, IKEA works with specialised service partners throughout Austria to make sure you receive the right support as quickly as possible.
Through our service, you can find the contact details for the manufacturer of your appliance.

Good to know

Returns and complaints are only possible with proof of purchase. This can be your invoice, order number or IKEA Family card, provided you used it when making the purchase.

Exceptions

  • Mattresses can only be returned within the 90-day mattress trial.
  • Appliances can only be returned in their original packaging.

💡 You may be able to resolve your request online

Many requests can be handled quickly and easily online – without contacting Customer Service.
