What is IKEA's return policy?

Your satisfaction with your purchase at IKEA is important to us. If you're not completely satisfied with a product, or you've simply changed your mind, you can return it within 365 days. Items returned within this period with proof of purchase will be refunded in full.

You can only return or exchange products purchased in an IKEA store in Austria or online on the Austrian IKEA website.
Opened or already assembled items can also be returned, provided that they are undamaged and clean. The original packaging is not required for the return. 
All IKEA products can be returned or exchanged, certain items such as live plants, hygiene products, certain food products or electrical appliances are excluded, which can only be returned in their original packaging. The item should have no visible damage or soiling and should be in a Resalable condition . After inspection by IKEA, you will be refunded the full purchase price provided that all return criteria are met.
Please do not make any changes to the product. Interventions such as drilling holes, painting or removing parts may affect the function and structure of the product and will void the warranty.
If an item is faulty, IKEA offers the following solutions: 
  • Free exchange
  • Discount
  • Refund of the purchase price
If further steps are necessary in the event of a complaint, such as an inspection, a free repair is also possible after an inspection has taken place.
