What is IKEA's return policy?
Your satisfaction with your IKEA purchase is important to us. If you are not completely satisfied with a product or have simply changed your mind, you can return it within 365 days. Items returned within this period with proof of purchase will be refunded in full.
You can return or exchange products purchased at an IKEA store in Austria or online on the Austrian IKEA website.
1. Which items can you return?
Opened or already assembled items can also be returned, provided that they are:
- undamaged
- clean
- and in a resalable condition
The original packaging is not required for the return.
The item should not show any visible damage or soiling.
Once IKEA has checked the product, you will receive a full refund, provided that all return conditions are met.
2. Which items are excluded from returns?
In general, IKEA products can be returned or exchanged.
However, certain items are excluded, such as:
- live plants
- hygiene products
- certain food products
- electrical appliances, which can only be returned in their original packaging
3. What if the product has been modified?
Please do not make any changes to the product.
Modifications such as:
- drilling holes
- painting
- or removing parts
may affect the function and structure of the product and will void the guarantee.
4. What happens if an item is faulty?
If an item is faulty, IKEA offers the following solutions:
- free exchange
- price reduction
- refund of the purchase price
If further steps are required as part of a claim, such as an inspection, a free repair may also be possible once the inspection has been completed.
