Wobbly no matter what you do!!RachelleIKEA doesn’t make it clear that this unit is meant to connect to the wall. I wanted to use it as a floor standing unit, but it’s so wobbly. It is put together properly and everything tightened, but its not solid at all. I’ve never purchased an ikea product that was so poorly designed to use as a stand alone piece of furniture. I guess the wall it gets bolted to acts as the support, so don’t purchase this to use as a floor standing unit. There’s absolutely no support without a wall to sturdy the unit. So, even when the doors open and close it wobbles all over the place and the doors won’t line up bc of that. I’m going to try and purchase none ikea hardware to reinforce the uniti, but based on other’s reviews I may not have much success. Hope this helps someone!

Very Difficult to put together. MicheleI have built many cabinets from the different Ikea lines and I'm not sure what it was about this one but I ordered two and they were both frustrating because the holes for the screws were not the right size, I had to get pliers involved to get the screw in and even then it wouldn't fit properly. The doors aren't hanging straight either. Going back to Billy and Pax.

Expensive for the quality and hard to put togetherVickieIt took a few extra nonikea parts to make sure the whole cabinet was even and perfect. We considered taking it back bc it takes a great deal of patience to put together and have it look perfect. And now having put it together, I'm not convinced if we had paid to be assembled it would have made a difference. We took it apart and put it back together several times to be sure we were following the directions. We love the way it looks in our house as a tv stand, but we had to jump through some hoops to get there. It's also not that sturdy in terms of being able to survive a move. I think some pieces would break if you tried to move it assembled and if taken apart it will be hard to get it back to looking perfect again. The positive is it holds a lot of stuff and looks nice!

Pros: looks very nice; much more storage inside than I had anticipated, and hides everything.
Cons: since these can be floor units/wall units, stackable, etc, it's not available as a single/one kit, you have to look for and buy multiple pieces to add together. The floor model in the store had terrible doors which did not match the cabinet so I found different ones than ones recommended that actually matched. Also another con is the screws definitely take some serious effort to screw in all the way.
But overall, great value for the money and huge storage space yet doesn't overrun the room.

MehDeonWe were in a bind for storage and shelves solutions during a complete remodel of the living and dining rooms. In the mist of a covid-19 and supply chain issues, we purchased several BESTA systems while we could. We didn't get everything of course and decided to wait until the remodel was done and IKEA's inventory recovered. Fast forward 9 months later and the remodeling is done and we start putting together the BESTA furniture. Right a way we knew this stuff looked good, but it wasn't gonna last. We're not new to IKEA and have purchase many things over years and years. But this stuff...It's the cheapest particleboard I've ever seen! The side walls are thin and 50% hollow. So much so that when you take them out of the box you can hear some of the loose insides falling in the middle. I know particleboard is lightweight and cheap, but this is stuff is on a whole new level. If you buy it, just make sure your not planning of moving it around much. The taller systems WILL NEED SOME EXTRA BRACING SUPPORT IN THE BACK to keep it from shifting. Please make sure to support them to a wall.

What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction.
