Easily damagedLindaTh countertop is beautiful and install was well done e but now only 10 months later, the veneer is lifting around the sink area. I have regularly oiled the countertop but it hasn’t prevented this damage. Is it repairable?2
Wide Plank LookJoanUnlike the typical butcher block wood countertop, this one has a wide-plank effect. The result is a more refined (dressier?) look than butcher block. The veneer is reasonable: about 1/8-inch thick. The finish is nicely matte, accentuating the wood in a positive way. No idea if this is waterproof enough; it is on a stand-alone series of cabinets. Looks great, though. Wilsonart makes a good near-color-match caulk for this: 7806 Bannister Oak is very close.5
nice countertopCarissamost people think its solid wood because it so well done5
Beautiful Countertops, but you should know a few things before purchasing.ElyI love the look of this countertop. I bought a couple to create office workstations. These are high-quality and heavy. Also, it's not clear from the description, but the veneer-finished edge goes around the entire countertop. So it can easily be used as an island or a desktop in the middle of a room. Here are some things to know before buying. Another reviewer mentioned that the veneer strips were improperly sized. This is not true. These are installer-grade and the strips are oversized so that they can be trimmed down after being affixed. They should be trimmed either using a router or with a file and sandpaper. Also, the surface was rougher than expected. But I just lightly sanded with 400 grit sandpaper and applied Howard's Feed N Wax. Now they have a nice deep luster and are smooth as a baby's bottom. Would purchase these again in a heartbeat.5
Strips to add after cuttingWillyStrips to add after cutting are not the same size and difficult to properly fit.4
A lot of knotsAnonymous reviewerI bought this to go with my new sektion cabinets and it is as expected but not as pretty as the pictures on line. This one has about 20 knots mostly small and tight but why? I was able to cut some off as I only needed 65 inches but I was sorry I didn’t look at it before I left the store. I live 2 hours away so I just went with it.4
Beautiful!Anonymous reviewerVery happy with the look and feel of this countertop. Still unclear on if we need to treat it to seal from water.5
good qualityAnonymous reviewerWe brought this to install in our pantry. It turned out so nice we added a piece to create a wine bar next to the kitchen island.5
sturdy beautiful easy to installAnonymous reviewerI keep freaking out when water gets spilled on it but it seems to be indestructible!5
A very good valueAnonymous reviewerWe used this product for our kitchen, bath, laundry and mud rooms in our new house. Very pleased5

What is veneer?

A veneer is a thin wooden sheet attached to things like particleboard to add a durable surface and a natural wood look – so we enjoy the many benefits of wood without using solid wood. The most common veneer types are birch, ash, oak, and beech, and we’ve made a special UV lacquer that helps preserve the wood's natural structure. A benefit with a slightly thicker veneer is how you can repair and sand the surface if it’s damaged to give furniture a longer and more beautiful life.
