Works Better Than Expected AnonymousThe sharpener didn't come with any instructions so I went to YouTube where I found a review that showed me how to open the area around the sharpener (button on back), which opens the top to expose a small well where users should add a small amount (about a teaspoon) of water before sharpening their knives. Once I figured that out, the results were excellent! Putting my chef's knife in the slot and gently pulling back on it about 5-10 times resulted in a super-sharp edge. I was thrilled with how easy it was to use and the results. I'm not sure about how long it will work as it is now, but if I get 1 year or more out of it, it was worth the price I paid. I would recommend it to anyone who needs this kitchen utility item.

Good Inexpensive SharpenerJamesThis is a very simple sharpener at a low price, but it has some very nice features. It can be used left or right handed, there is a plastic guard for both the hand and to keep the blade aligned, and the sharpening element is stone and not metal which gives a better edge. I highly recommend it.
