Easy to install and works greatMarkThis little item should be front and center for anyone remodeling a kitchen using Ikea cabinets, especially if you have a trash/recycling cabinet. Installation was a breeze, but make sure you have an outlet nearby. Also, you can take the device apart, so you only have to drill a small hole for the non-plugged side to pass-through.
Works Great Once Adjusted ProperlyJosephThis opener works great on a trash/recycle drawer. Just push the door with your knee to open when your hands are full. Look through the entire instruction manual before beginning the installation and be sure to remove the yellow shipping anchor before plugging in the unit. IKEA is know for its wordless instructions, but this is a case where they should include detailed instructions on how to adjust the it. I had to remove the attachment screws after accidentally installing it too far back in the cabinet. It needs to be placed just the right distance behind the back of the drawer so that it senses when you press on the front of the cabinet when trying to activate it. Once I got it adjusted correctly it has worked flawlessly.
Fun additionJulieWe purchased this as part of a complete kitchen remodel, I love it. It's a fun little add to a wonderful new kitchen. Installation was easy enough but read the directions carefully.
push openers are workhorsesHaroldI have 2 of these installed for trash and recycling drawers for 8+ years. They get used dozens of times a day and still work like new. On the other hand, the Blumotion (soft close) feature on the Blum drawer runners wears out and I am ready to put the third set of runners in, but the Push Openers are still working great!
When we moved into our house, to throw something in the trash, you had to fully open two cabinet doors, grab the trash bin to pull out all four trash buckets on a large drawer and then push the drawer in and close both doors. We would wind up making a pile of trash on the counter because it was a hassle to throw anything away, plus you had to touch the garbage cabinet door and the garbage bucket while cooking. Now a knee tap and you can put the trash in the bucket and then close it with another knee tap. This is the best home improvement project I've done.
FantasticJoelThere are many things I love about my new kitchen. But showing off how I can open the space below my sink with the bump of my knee is one of the nicest creature comforts. Wet hands - no problem. Cooking waste & packaging - gone with the bump of my knee. I love this opener. It was surprisingly simple to install and works great. It is hidden and you never see it, but it is ready to respond when wanted.
Easy to install and support usefulAxelI was originally looking at the Blum owner and was happy to find the IKEA version to be almost identical and much cheaper and easier to find. Installation was easy and it works perfectly. I wish I had bought this years ago!

Works on other cabinetsCarolynIkea makes frameless cabinets and this is sold to work on those. We had another manufacturer's framed cabinets, so weren't sure this push opener would install correctly on our trash drawer. We ignored the first couple of instructions, leaving the bumpers on our cabinet and not installing the side bumpers that come with this unit. We followed the remaining instructions to place the unit at the correct distance from the back of the drawer. We had to tape down the plastic "T" that you use to place the unit, its adhesive wasn't enough to keep it still while the unit is pushed back where it belongs. After that, the unit was screwed down and works perfectly. We had to cut holes into the sides of the cabinets to reach the electric plug under the next door sink cabinet. This unit is made by Blum with their servo-drive. It is a much less expensive version than you can find on cabinet websites. We are very pleased to have a touch-free trash/recycle drawer.

Works better then I expected - but...AnonymousWorks better then I expected. I was lucky to find out IKEA offered this Push Opener. It is a great addition to our kitchen remodel and IKEA should promote it more. My but ... is that it needs an electric outlet in the back of the cabinet that it will be installed in. My kitchen remodel or probably anyone else's did not include an electric plug inside a cabinet. It was not easy to add the outlet in the middle of the kitchen remodel. You need to plan for this in advance because usually the electrical work is done at the beginning of the remodel project.
ConvenientGeorgiaWe put it on our cabinet that holds the trash can. It is very convenient when you have trash and your hands are greasy or dirty. you just give a gentle kick or push. The door opens and you can drop in the trash without messing up the cabinet.
One of the best upgrades to our IKEA kitchenAnonymousWe bought this push motor to use with our 24 trash cabinet. We saw it the the store and immediately knew we had to have one. No more touching the trash bin with icky hands, no more cleaning the front of the trash cabinet daily, no more extra wear and tear on the trash cabinet. Love that you can just gently nudge the door with your foot or knee and it opens. Everyone who sees it wants one!

Expensive.AnonymousPart of my kitchen remodel; I put this under the farm sink to push out the 30inch drawer that holds 2 garbage receptacles, dishwashing detergent, etc. So Far works as it should. No need hands to scrape food into garbage receptacle while doing dishes. I hope the unit will last a long time.
