Reviews

instructions are horrificDim good with ikea assembly, however the instructions change position like a pretzel. i dont have enough of the cogs that hold the pins, the holes dont line up and its a total joke. ikea wants me to write a longer review. isnt this enuf?1
Micke deskAngelicaI absolutely love it!!5
Adequate sizeAnonymous reviewerMicke desk was the most compact size for my daughter room5
It’s a good desk if you need the spaceNickIt’s a good desk if you don’t have a lot of space BUT the metal leg is a tad strange choice, I’d rather just have two of the long wood pieces for the support but it works for what I need. The drawer could be a bit deeper/taller inside but again it works. The only thing that I found weird is the color. In the image on the site it’s specifically a lighter shade of a dark-brown but the actual product looks like it’s pretty much black. The surface of the table also had a few white marks as well at least for me it’s not much of a bother to return/get a new top part. It’s all just nitpicks honestly. . TL;DR - Good desk, just the metal leg is an odd choice and drawer could be larger, but it’s a great desk4
Great desk for a small spaceDeniseGot this for my daughter's college apartment which did not have much space for a larger desk. Although this is relatively small, it is perfectly adequate for what she needs--and a rolling office chair fits neatly underneath. Only MINOR issue is that the metal legs/side of the desk don't line up as neatly/cleanly as I would like--but then again, I'm sure very few people would even notice.4
Sturdy deskBarbaraSmall white desk, sturdy. I bought it for doing watercolors. It is the perfect size and even has a little cup holder.5
Great sizeAntoninoVery good for small spaces but at the same time has a large drawer and enough space for laptop, monitor and mouse5
MICKE Desk Ruined by Bad Screw QualitySumanI recently purchased the MICKE Desk, but unfortunately, the quality is very poor. The left leg assembly screw was of such bad quality that it didn’t fit properly, and the thread in the middle got stripped easily. Because of this, the entire desk became damaged during assembly. The screws feel extremely cheap, and now I have no option to rebox and return it. Very disappointed with the poor quality of parts provided.1
Love Love LoveTanyaLove Love Love this desk! Had to return it because it was too wide for my space but it was hard to let go. Had to get the Torald desk at Ikea instead bc that is for smaller spaces. 5
Perfect compact desk EdnaThis IKEA desk is the perfect size for my son. It fits comfortably in a small space while still providing enough surface area for his laptop and accessories. The design is simple yet functional, making it great for studying or gaming. A smart choice for compact rooms!5
Came with scratches CelinaWe were dissapointed to see scratches on the top of the desk, we were very careful opening the boxes but unfortunately some of the pieces came scratched. Overall it’s a nice desk and took one hour to assemble just wish those scratches weren’t visible. 3
ChippingNajwaI've barely had this desk for a month, and the paint is already chipping. Too much of a hassle to return. 2
Quality needs improvementAnonymous reviewerI wouldn’t recommend this product for adult or heavy duty use due to the bad quality drawer. The mechanism is notably difficult to operate, it lacks smoothness and requires excessive force to open and close, which is frustrating for daily use. This is particularly disappointing because I’ve had good experiences with IKEA’s drawer systems in other products, which glide smoothly. 2
Great desk for our 9 year old!KarinaBought this desk for our 9-year-old so that he had a place to do homework and play besides our dining table! It's small but a good size for him, and it fits in our living room. We bought the Skadis pegboard, and he picked out the Skadis accessories set, which he loves! 5
broCeceThis desk is horrid. The instructions didn’t explicitly show and it got broken so quickly, it took me forever to get the drawer out of the desk because it was stuck in place.1
WORKS GREAT , WOULD RECOMMEND ! :))GrisvelThe amount of stuff I have on the desk and it’s able to hold itself ??? is great!!! Make sure to measure your small space area before purchasing. If you have an issue with building, YouTube has clear instructions on how to build it . My only negative is I wish they had red undertone dark brown colors as the color does not match my room but I still made it work . Also the quality is not top notch but if your looking for your first desk that can hold up a lot of things and doesn’t chip this is the one . Shipping was fast too so that was great. 5
Good quality ShannonI’m very glad I bought this! It fits well in my small room and is very good quality. The white color is very pleasing to the eye as well. I will def buy from ikea again as this was my first purchase from them. 5
Good for small spacesVickyI use this desk as a vanity in my room. Actual vanities do not fit in the space so I thought this would be good enough to apply my skincare and makeup. I like that it’s a clean bright white and that there is a drawer. I recently got a the Stodja (14x20 size) drawer organizer and it fits perfectly in the drawer with a little space to spare on the side. It’s great because now my makeup is organized and doesn’t slide everywhere when I close the drawer. I would say the one con is that it’s a little flimsy. The desk shakes if you close the drawer too hard. But for the price it does the job. 4
Great small deskSharonGreat desk size for small spaces. Nice additions include a top hole for cords to drop through. And a super size drawer. Easy to assemble just a little time consuming so plan accordingly. 5
Poor qualityAnonymous reviewerHonestly very cute once put together. Very hard to assemble. Instructions are not that great. The quality is not great. Okay for kids but I wouldn’t recommend any of the ikea desk for adults. 1

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"My idea with the MICKE series was to simplify everything we do with our computers and mobile phones in today's high-tech world. Like keeping in touch with friends, downloading films and music, working or printing out tickets. The goal was to create a real dream product with maximum functions in a minimum space. One smart thing is the built-in cable management, so you can hide away all the cables. Another is that all the parts have the same depth and height so everyone can create their own favorite combination."
