It's the FRAGILE BASEAnonymous reviewerThe lamp is perfect! BUT (!)....when I opened the lamp from the box, the base was slightly dented and pitted. I returned it & I was, most efficiently, given a replacement.
When I took the replacement out, the plastic plug (so light) dropped gently onto the base denting it visibly! I know you "get what you pay for" and £19 is not much, but I would rather pay a bit more and get a base that does not get dented so VERY EASILY. Such a disappointment that the base cover is so vulnerable that the SLIGHTEST little knock and it gets damaged. Be warned!
Other than that, no complaints. Be warned also that the locking mechanism for the pole is such that once screwed on, it will not unscrew. The IKEA staff tried and also failed.
Possibly the worst thing I've ever purchasedAnonymous reviewerI made this account just to write this review. I would advise strongly against purchasing this item, unless you don't mind having to reassemble it each time you accidentally nudge it. I think, perhaps, you should consider including some super glue in the packaging; I believe this would be the only way to make this lamp stand up on its own without collapsing under its own weight.
