Repot it! Review 1 year onAnonymous reviewerLovely, great value for money, but if individual plants start dying out, you need to repot. 1 year later I was down to 5 stems so decided to repot and check roots and soil --- what I found was basically a dense root ball around which was a thick mud-like, compressed soil you could shape like clay. The roots have not spread into it, the plants that died still had the roots in the soil which were rotting, and the surviving plants couldn't reach whatever nutrients remained. Still, not unhappy with the purchase - just be aware IKEA plants can suffer from this - they do great after repotting. --- (Tip: 'Gardening at 58 North' has a couple of videos on YouTube that shows you how aggressive you can be and how much these palms can bounce back, even in UK conditions. Short, to the point, and not vague and uninformative like most videos on these plants!)4
