Not suitable for houses with kids or pets Anonymous reviewerInitially it looked dead nice. Then I spotted bits of dust inside that were hard to completely remove. Whilst cleaning I also spotted inconstancies in the painting quality which are visible externally. I’ve put up with it as the display ones in store also show the same.
I have since discovered how fragile they are. The first one smashed with a plastic water bottle falling over and knocking it, and the second smashed due to a cat bumping it. Neither of which involved the lamp falling. I wouldn’t buy again.

Broke when lifted for dustingAnonymous reviewerIt's a beautiful piece and will add character (and great light) to any setting. The globe sits big and bold on the bedside table. Indeed, I enjoyed it up until the day I picked it up briefly to dust underneath and the spring mechanism that holds the electrics to the globe somehow shattered the globe. Really disappointed. Please do be careful when maneuvering it as the globe material is not thick, and clearly not very strong. Maybe IKEA will replace it, let's see.

Black blemish can't be removedAnonymous reviewerIt would be a nice lamp, but it came with a black blemish that can't be removed or washed off - it is very noticeable when the lamp is turned on. Disappointing quality control.

It is a lampAnonymous reviewerThe Fado is a beautiful lamp, a dome that spread light into a room and can be used as a statement piece. Now, I recommend those who purchase to also purchase a smart bulb that allows for hue and brightness changes, this will allow you to customise the aura that this bulb brings, it truly does have potential to be exactly what someone needs to elevate their space. I personally paired it with the Varmblixt and the pair make a beautifully warm and cosy feel to my space, which is exactly what I was going for to cut into some of the harsh colours dotted around my space. The lamp itself, has a few structural improvements, I.e (look at the manual on how to set it up) the light fitting, doesn’t sit flush within the dome and so it makes you think “is it secured?”, a groove for the inner bulb to sit in should be considered for a more secure fitting. Price wise, I think the lamp is worth it, it’s not too expensive and used well can genuinely transform your space. Hope my review helps
