We are constantly working to improve the everyday lives of people on a local, national and global level. Through a variety of strategic collaborations and inspiring initiatives, we strive to be good neighbors and to make a positive impact on people and planet. Our three main goals are to:

How we are making an impact with national organizations
Family Promise
The goal of our collaboration with Family Promise is to expand homelessness prevention and shelter diversion services across the country, as well as bring the experience of home to families battling homelessness and housing instability. Over the last four years we’ve collaborated in more than 18 US markets, providing furniture donations, co-worker support and home furnishing expertise to transform transitional housing spaces, shelters and day centers for families experiencing homelessness.
Save the Children
We’ve worked with Save the Children for over a decade to provide thousands of children and their families with a healthy start in life and protection from harm through product donations and financial support. In 2023, we supported the annual Make Summer Fair program, raising $17,560 from customers and contributing an additional $50,000.
American Red Cross
We’ve built a strong relationship with American Red Cross through over a decade of collaboration. Through in-kind product donations, volunteering and financial contributions, we support the Red Cross as they work to deliver vital services, from providing relief and support to those in crisis, to helping people be prepared to respond in emergencies.
How local stores and co-workers are making a difference
Celebrating Black History Month across our stores
We celebrate Black History Month by actively appreciating those that uplift and inspire Black communities. We do this through partnerships with local organizations that focus on inclusion and community impact. We hope to encourage every person to celebrate their space.
IKEA Canton & Black United Fund of Michigan
IKEA Canton has partnered with the Black United Fund of Michigan for the past 3 years to give many middle and high school students hands-on experiences in business and entrepreneurship. Through real‑life activities, teens gained practical skills & discovered how their ideas can create an impact in their communities.
IKEA Fishers & 100 Black Men of Indianapolis
IKEA Fishers supported its partnership with 100 Black Men of Indianapolis by donating more than 100 dorm essential packs to high school seniors in the Beautillion Program – offering encouragement, practical support and a strong start as they transition into college life.
IKEA St. Louis & 100 Black Men of Metro St. Louis
IKEA St. Louis partnered with 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis to provide tornado relief, refresh their community center, and support their community health fair and 5K. Together, these efforts help create safer, healthier, and more supportive spaces where the community can grow and thrive.
