Awesome Orange Donut Lamp (Mods Required)KyleAfter making some modifications, I love this lamp. You can tell the glass is hand blown. Like many other reviewers mention, the Ikea pictures of this lamp are slightly misleading. When on, the color is a dull orange, almost yellow color. Not the deep amber orange as desired. This can be remedied by removing the glass and adding transparent orange tape over the LED light. This took me about 20 minutes to modify. When off, it is a deep orange color. I have mine wall mounted and installation is incredibly easy. I'd recommend getting a smart plug because the on/off switch could be challenging to access. The price is a little steep, $75 would be easier to swallow, but given the glass is hand blown + inflation, I get it.4
Nice glowJenniferI bought this for my boyfriend as a gift. He looked at it every time we took a trip to IKEA. We always wondered what the story was behind the lamp and its shape. I was walking through IKEA myself one day and happened to see the sign talking about the designer and the inspiration behind it. The thoughtfulness of the design inspired me to purchase the product for my boyfriend.5

Ambiance at it‘s best!RichardThe Varmblixt is my favorite lamp I‘ve owned. It provides just enough light to fill a room, but only enough to feel warm and cozy! Hygge at it‘s best! I own 2 now, one for home and one for my office.5

Poor quality controlYiliangThere are visible bubbles in the glass. When it glows, you can see the color is not even. I knew the customer service will reply that “ you’re welcome to return the item”, but there was only one IKEA in the entire state and it took several hours to drive there and I’m so tired of driving there just to return it. The quality control of this product is so disappointing. After they increased the price, it does not worth it. DO NOT BUY THIS!1

Great lamp, even better if it were smartChun ManI've recently placed this lamp in my room and it's soft light has been very soothing to look at before sleeping. I have it connected to a smart socket to let me turn it on and off remotely. Otherwise, there is a tiny toggle switch to turn it on and off on the side, and it isn't easily accessible. My glass had a small bubble in it so the quality isn't perfect. You've also seen other reviews saying that the light isn't as orange as you may expect. The result is more of a pale peach than an orange.5
