VARDAGEN Roasting pan, oval carbon steel, 12 5/8x8 5/8 "
When seasoned properly, the carbon steel pan develops a dark non-stick surface, making it great for cooking tasty food without sticking. And it only gets better the more the pan is used.
Can be used in the oven, on the grill and on all hobs since it is made entirely of metal.
The two handles make it easy to lift and carry – with potholders as protection of course.
Made from carbon steel, which spreads heat evenly, keeps the pan warm for a long time, and gives food an even browning.

Vardagen roasting panRoderickgood heavy steel pan at a very good price, will be back for a couple more.
Great designJocelynGreat product but seems like it rusts fast.
Folks, it’s carbon steel NOT stainless steel — there is a difference.BGreat product, carbon steel at a steal of a price. But if you don’t care for it properly or know how to do so, it’s going to rust, etc. Think of it as a polished cast iron, so yes, it is heavy too, but requires some basic care. Great product, but if you haven’t the patience to care for it (that means seasoning, etc.) then avoid disappointing yourself.
Vardagen roasting panStephen RI like this roasting pan. Upon receiving I washed and seasoned (flaxseed oil, oven, upside down) and a few days later used it to roast a whole large (Costco 😝) chicken. Best chicken I’ve had in a spell, better than ant rotisserie bird of late — dark meat (my fav) was fall off the bone done, white meat was pretty good.
Already have plans for additional meals.
Overall, this pan ticked all the boxes I had listed: heavy gauge, handles large enough to securely grab with potholders, not overly large but big enough for a meal for two (or more).
Nice going IKEA.
Rusted after first useSallyThis is the worst cookware I have ever bought. It immediately rusted. I always love carbon steel cookware and have never had a problem. This is awful.
Beautiful PanLukeJust got this pan seasoned it and made some eggs on it this morning. It has fantastic heat transfer and conduction. Can’t wait to use it again to make a nice coq au vin. Really thinking of getting a couple more just to because they look gorgeous out of the box and seasoned.
RecommendJanFirst of all, anyone who gave this a bad review because it’s “too heavy” or “hard to use” clearly has no idea what they’re doing. It’s steel. Of course it’s heavy. That’s the point. If that surprises you, maybe cookware isn’t your biggest problem. A steel pan requires proper seasoning, which does take a bit of skill. If you’ve never seasoned a pan before, that’s on you. Please watch a video and follow basic instructions. And if that still feels like too much effort, then do yourself a favor and stick to lightweight, nonstick aluminum pans, because that’s about the level of cooking this review section is showing. This is a great pan, but only if you’re actually competent enough to use it.
Too heavy for practical useSunnyThese pans are too heavy. It's impractical to use regularly. It's too bad because they are an ideal size.
Good size, terrible materialReneAmazing how fast it can get rust on it, it's a shame because it seemed a nice pan,. I won't recommend it
