Big ScamMirvetI bought this mattress that was supposed to be firm but it wasn't and I sent it to Europe and we found out 2 weeks ago that it was very soft. This morning I went to Ikea in Tampa to see if they could do anything because I paid about $700 with taxes plus shipping to Europe. The person who spoke to me did nothing,she said I had three months to return it and how can I return it when it's in Europe. I trusted Ikea too much and I'm not happy at all, you pay for one thing and receive another thing. 1

Disappointed with Possible Used/Repackaged Mattress – Not as AdvertisedYi-HuiI purchased this mattress in-store (July 2025), and while the external box was sealed, the inner plastic wrapping was partially torn, suggesting it may have been a returned item repackaged by IKEA. The manufacturing date was also a year old, which was unexpected.
More importantly, the mattress is nowhere near as firm as the showroom model we tested. It lacks support, and the surface feels unstable—making it easy to roll off. For a product marketed as firm, this is a major letdown and a potential safety concern.
Given that we live 2.5 hours away, returning it is inconvenient, but the quality and possible used condition make it unacceptable. IKEA should ensure customers receive new, undamaged products that match showroom standards. Would not recommend this purchase.1
Absolutely love CrystalI am so in love with this mattress. I tried all the floor model beds in the store. And as soon as I laid on this one, my body was able to relax for the first time in a long time! Like it was made for me. I was having the worst back pain from my old mattress. I can see a huge difference in my sleep quality and my physical health from sleeping on this new one. I highly recommend this mattress. And if I ever need another one, I will definitely be purchasing this one again. It is heavy but I am a small woman and was able to maneuver it and able to lift the corners slightly when changing the sheets. Again, I highly recommend this mattress!5
Way too smushyRileyI purchased the plush version of this mattress. This is a perfect choice for a guest room if you don't want your guest to stay more than one night. They'll sleep on this and be ready to go to a hotel. I sank down into the mattress and couldn't roll over. I felt like I was stuck in a marshmallow. I made it less than 2 weeks before I had to return it. The one good note is that the team at the store m≤ade exchanging it super easy. My fingers are crossed that the firm will be better. 3
Very bad productGyanDescription says it's firm but as soon as you lie down on mattress it just sinks in. It's not at all firm very poor quality. I was expecting it to be firm. But unfortunately it's not. 😞1
Poor quality construction ChristyThe mattress feels terrible compared to the discontinued haungesund. This one feels “empty” when you put pressure on it, there is no feeling of foam layer, just springs. 1
Not comfortableShontelThis mattress surprised me. I’ve gotten mattresses in the last from ikea and the experience was great. This mattress is very uncomfortable. Since sleeping on it for a week I have been waking up with major back pains, side pains and shoulder pains. Unfortunately I’m going to have to return it, I can not continue to be in pain for the recommend time for the mattress to adjust 2

Don’t be fooled nothing like the displayMelissaWe purchased this firm mattress a week ago and tried it out for the first time first time and it’s nothing like the mattress on display, the mattress is not firm and you will sink right into it. If you suffer from back pain this will make it worse. Very disappointed 1
Hated it. NOT medium firmStutiThe mattress is super plush and keeps dipping. It's more plush than some of the plush mattresses I've tried. I liked it in store but this did not feel like the floor model at all. the floor model was much firmer!
(ironic because floor models are supposed to be plush and broken in)

WHY?CarolynWhy does Ikea always discontinue their best quality, best loved items? I’ve purchased a king, a queen and several twin Haugesund mattresses and loved them. The Haugesund was recommended to me by a friend who purchased 22 of them for her 5 homes. I’ve recommended them to friends and family who have purchased them and loved it. Needing one more mattress I was surprised to find it’s been discontinued and replaced with the Vagstranda. BIG Mistake! No, HUGE Mistake!! It’s awful. Firm, it’s not. There’s no edge support which leaves you limited space to sleep on. So much so one falls off the bed. Which led to a hip injury. IKEA’s quality in mattresses and some furniture has gone down the tube and almost nonexistent. As for spring mattresses it’s a no brained… DON’T purchase one from IKEA. It’s sad, IKEA used to be a go to for a good quality, reasonably priced mattress.
P.S. I’m still upset you discontinued the LACK bookcase! As are so many others. 1

I previously had an IKEA mattress (discontinued, half the price) that lasted 8 years and I'm finally replacing it, so I got this one thinking I could count on IKEA. FALSE. Flimsy and cheap and you roll off the nonexistent edges. IKEA please, wtf. IN THIS ECONOMY ????????1
