Good to know
Only use IKEA LED drivers suited for this product. The total wattage of the lamps connected to one LED driver must not exceed the maximum power stated on that LED driver, and never more than 30W.
Used to connect MITTLED worktop lighting with TRÅDFRI LED driver.
If you mount several MITTLED worktop lightings, you need 1 VÅGDAL connection cord for each group of lighting strips to connect the lighting to TRÅDFRI LED driver.

Good product and necessary to string up Ikea lightsIanThis may be long but is a simple detail review covering gaps in instructions and good Youtube videos online are hard to find.
I used this Tradfi (power driver), Mittled (light strips), Rodret (wireless on/off switch), Ansluta (power cord), Vagdal (wiring).
I've done other installs with Ribbonflex stuff, chose this for my daughter's closet as it looked more simple. This was plug and play, make sure your led rating doesn't exceed your power supply rating, otherwise buy what I did.
Install was basic, figure out where you're securing the driver, wire cabling, led mounting and then go. The driver uses 1 power cable that is long with a toggle power switch, otherwise each led uses a single cable run to the driver unless you string the led units together to make a big led strip.
Biggest gap is the Rodret setup. What's missing..put battery in the Rodret unit, use pin on the sync button on the Tradfi driver and then hold sync button on Rodret while holding against driver.

Cord is not long enough.....Frank... between the lamp and the driver...can I splice a 36" extension into the middle of the cord with 18 AWG thermostat wire and solder?

Fine but too longJohnPerforms as needed for, it would be very helpful to make length adjustable. The cord is always long enough which means many. times it is too long.
Extender for OversidanMatthewI needed an extension to connect 2 cabinets with Oversidan lights on opposite sides of my room to a power source. Cabinet A was furthest and Oversidan cord wouldn't make it to cabinet B. I don't like seeing cords so I tried using the VAGDAL as an extender and it works. The reason I gave this 3 stars is because IKEA made OVERSIDAN and MITTLED with different connectors. It's kind of annoying that they didn't take using the same connectors into consideration. I wish IKEA's products were more universal to allow connections with other IKEA products.

Length and size of cable make it useful in just about any configuration and will run to the top of a cabinet as well. Allows placing the controllers out of sight.
