Great for kidsEllenI've had this sofa for almost 4 years now, and I'm still so happy with it. I have 3 kids now, and the fact that I can machine wash the whole cover is priceless. Through all the accidents, spills, sickness, and general gross that is children, this couch is still going strong and has taken everything these kids can throw at it. The cover has a few discolored spots from... you don't want to know. However, there are still no rips, tears, holes, or deformities even though it has been through the washer and dryer countless times. No gentle care needed. I'm not kidding when I say we are rough on this couch, and you would never know it after all this time. The cushions are pretty firm (don't expect to sink into them), though I think that is probably part of why it has lasted as long and as well as it has. The cushions make great pillow forts too.
Not so softDeborahThis sofa isn’t soft. And as a disabled person, there’s no way for me to get it back to the store for a return. The base of your spine will start to hurt, that’s how hard the cushions are. How they get extra soft is beyond me. I have the gray cover, I expected it to be a little bit thicker. It’s very thin. Not comfortable at all.
Comfortable and lovely!PatriciaHonestly, I struggled with whether to purchase this sofa, and I am so glad I finally did it! The sofa is super comfy - great sleeping sofa. It is firm, but not an uncomfortable rock like firm. It is supportive, and the best part - you don't sink into the cracks like I did on my last sofa that cost twice as much as this one. I love the the fit and look of the slipcover on it, too. Great purchase!
Love the uppland sofa!MichelleNot sure why my other review doesn't show as a verified purchase, hope this one does. I'm very pleased with the Uppland sofa. While I would prefer a higher seat height and deeper seating I've been comfortable sitting on this and even sleeping on it, despite it not being so long, it works for me at 5'8". I love the clean and happy look of the white canvas covers. I'm happy I bought the ottoman, too. The comfy casual aesthetic is very pleasing to me and works well with my existing decor in the second floor great room where it was delivered and set up by taskrabbit. I'm sitting on it with my laptop writing this review! Thank you IKEA. I'm planning to move back to Europe hopefully sooner than later, I hope if I don't bring it with I can buy a new one with the same slipcovers over there.....please DO NOT DISCONTINUE. :)
Extreme poor qualityAprilI bought the sofa and love seat a year ago, with 2 covers. One of the covers is already ripped at the seams and can no longer be used, the love seat has a hole in the frame cover. There is no option to buy replacement frame or cushion covers. The white cushion covers are torn to shreds. I bought this couch thinking it would be a good purchase with having dogs seeing as how Ikea is all about quality and how things hold up from everyday life. Well that is completely untrue. I had issues with this couch and loveseat from the day I purchased. Just a complete waste of my money. Already looking for new furniture and will not be buying anything from Ikea!!
Not the quality of ektorpLauraWe've owned 2 ektorp sofas and 1 armchair. After 14 years it was time to replace them. The uppland sofa looks good in the store but when we got it we weren't impressed. The seat cushions are super stuffed- like too much- and the back cushions were super thin. It is very tall too. I added my own stuffing to the back cushions and they look and feel much better. The material is also cheap feeling! You can't flip the bottom cushions, which doesn't make any sense since those get the most wear. I love being able to wash slipcovers but I'm not happy with the quality of this couch.
Great choice for our spaceBeckiWe needed to replace an old sofa that had seen better days after many years of daily use, but hadn't been able to find one that we like well enough to spend a lot of money on it.
We saw the Uppland sofa when browsing through the store and found it to be very comfortable. We also like the classic lines of the piece. The low price was a bonus!
Very weird to sit on KathrynMy son bought this twice for different rooms and I found it very comfortable so I bought it. What arrived was very different and very uncomfortable. The seat cushion is overfilled and the back cushion underfilled so when you sit on it your seat is up high and you fall backwards to the back. You're not sitting up straight. It's so uncomfortable that I had to return it paying a second delivery fee. So buying this couch is costing me $160 with no couch to show for it. Never again!
Couch frameDeborahLove the easy instructions to put together. Love the couch just not the covers. I am going to make do with it but I Wish IKEA would bring back the other cover back. My Friend has one with the other cover and that’s why I bought this couch.
Uncomfortable sofa so farMutailifuThey say this is an updated model from the Ektorp. have had long term experience with it. it was comfortable as well as reasonably priced. This one tho, so overpriced. so uncomfortable. Would not recommend this for anyone.

Uppland sofaKathrynLove this sofa, there are several things that I especially like. It’s size 88 long and the seat depth is great, I like that there are springs in the cushions and that the covers zip around three sides which make it much easier to get the cushion in and aligned properly. I also like the variety of fabric types and color choices I choose the white with 100% cotton.very easy to put together, great price and looks and feels good….

Ektorp who?MauryAt first I was heartbroken the Ektorp was discontinued and then I met the Uppland. It’s deeper, it’s higher and it’s sturdier but has the same appealing aesthetic.
