sleek and hotPEGGYVery nice design and just what I need to serve coffee to guests.5
Perfect for winter time -AmiraPerfect for winter time - after a day at ski the tea (prepared in the morning) was still hot5
Weird design flawsChristopher L.This thermos is what I consider a rare Ikea design fail. It looks good but taking the lid off for pouring liquid into the flask is awkward. When putting the lid back the mechanics required are counter intuitive. When pouring into the flask the level inner ring means some liquid stays there rather than running into the flask as it should. When pouring from the flask with lid on the lid is visually distracting.2

Excellent coffee carafeBrigittaThis carafe is stunningly beautiful. I find it easy to open and close the lid. (Note, just the lid unscrews.) It holds a generous amount of coffee for us in the morning and keeps it hot for hours. I have an old Melita cone that I use to hold the paper filters. Fits just right.5
The pour spout does notJanice B.The pour spout does not dribble! It is excellent!5
Good value.LUISGood value.5
Simple and effectiveNoraThis carafe works very well once you uncover the trick to opening it. It’s simple design is appealing and coffee stays warm for hours. Opening the top to add liquid is actually easy but not intuitive so it would be helpful if directions were printed on the outside versus the inside of the carafe. Keep turning the top in the direction of the arrow past resistance to open.5
Keeps it HotSantedI found this Vacuum Flask to be an excellent value and it absolutely does keep our morning coffee hot for the few hours we are drinking it. I was really surprised how well it kept our coffee hot day after day. I had a little problem getting used to opening and closing it securely but that was probably more to do with me then the thermos. My husband had no problem opening and closing it. Also just twist a little turn of the lid to get more coffee out without opening it all the way. Keeps it hotter that way and less hassle.5
Can’t openIkeasuxCan’t open the flask. It’s on way too tight. It also took 2 months to arrive1
What a disappointment!Fy2b2The top is on so tight that there is no way to remove it. It was shipped to me and it is not convenient to take it back to the store. I think I’m going to have to call customer service to see what they can do.1
Hubby loves it!!YlovesAIt’s just perfect. Low key but stylish form with a matte black finish fits our kitchen decor. Great twist top!!5
parks19I love this to keep my extra pour over coffee hot!!!5

A better everyday one cup at a time

Have you had coffee or tea today? Statistically, you most likely have. In fact, these hot brews are the most consumed beverages in the world next after water. They’re a part of life that can give a silver lining to any moment. That’s why we decided to update our selection of products to make that perfect cup – from the tea infuser and the kettle to the milk frother.

Malin Ljungström, who was involved in developing the range, shares her insights. “To many, the smell of coffee and tea means well-being and a homey feeling. Since we want to improve people’s everyday, we’re offering products that make it possible for more to experience more feelgood moments at home.”

Developing things that make a difference

Malin and her colleagues dug deep into coffee and tea cultures to find out what tools people feel they can’t live without. They talked to specialists and investigated living, eating and drinking habits. “We wanted to develop items that make a difference, so we’ve focused on a few, but carefully selected products,” she states. The team cooperated with IKEA Test Lab in Älmhult, Sweden. It’s an IKEA version of a James Bond lab where prototypes are inspected and evaluated. “A couple of the things we checked were that the thermoses can keep fluids really warm for a long time. And that the glass mugs and glass pots are durable and comfortable, even though they look and feel light and airy,” says Malin.

For all tastes and different wallets

No matter how you enjoy your cup, you’ll find the things that put an extra flavor to your drink in the range. Another good thing is that there’s something for all wallets. “It’s one of our contributions to a better life at home. A way to improve people’s everyday one cup at a time,” concludes Malin.

Material

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing items – without losing its valuable properties.
