Bad Off-gassing SmellJaneI bought both this white storage unit and the real wood version of this same storage unit. I built the real wood version first and was happy with it. The quality felt good, it just smelled like wood - no complaints. I assembled this product last, and I am a lot more disappointed in this version. The manufactured wood is much more fragile (one piece cracked because I accidentally put a small amount of pressure on it when moving around), and it has a very strong smell of chemically fake wood. We let it sit in my daughter's playroom overnight with an air purifier and the whole room still smelled bad the next morning. I put it outside all day yesterday (unfortunately I can no longer do that because it's now snowing) and it seemed to help a bit, but as soon as I put it back in a smaller room, the smell is still there. I'm sure IKEA will say to return it for a refund, but I live over 2 hours away from the closest IKEA. It still functions ok, but the smell is really disappointing.
