Be careful when purchasing!Anonymous reviewerWhen buying this lamp, which I really like, do not buy the suggested lightbulbs —IKEA has listed the incorrect bulbs as part of the “complete with” choice. In tiny lettering, they suggest another bulb. Not at all helpful to find this out when you get home or have the item delivered. I used delivery and I could not get IKEA to exchange the incorrect bulbs for the correct ones because their system doesn’t allow it. Shame on IKEA.
Cheap lampAlexWhat a missed oportunity this lamp is. The lamp looks nice and simple in the store, but once you buy it and you get home, you'll quickly realize how cheaply made it is. Like others have observed, since the lamp is folded, once unpacked, it's impossible to get it to be level, no matter how hard you try. One corner will be higher than the others and I'm afraid if I keep bending it, it'll just fall apart. The metal used for the base is also extremely cheap and looks like a thin layer of foil that was added to a plastic base. Does the lamp work? Yes it does, but I don't see how anybody with a decent house can feel good about this lamp. Maybe it'll work for students and teenagers who aren't too concerned about quality and appearance, but for everyone else, this will be a cheap eyesore. I also find the current $39.99 price way too high for the very low quality you get. Walmart sells better quality lamps than this!
Stylish but easy to breakBrettStylishly simplistic with its brushed nickel and rectangular white shade, though as @Robert points out, depending on desk material (such as glass) the black cord can be rather distracting for a lamp most likely to be placed against a wall.
Unfortunately as others have mentioned it dents easily.
Worse, it breaks easily from a fall or even just tightening too much during initial assembly; the entire lamp assembly depends on a comparatively fragile (if hidden) plastic piece where the light bulb socket connects with the stem and base, and unfortunately is not realistic to repair or even replace if (or when) it snaps.
Bottom line, purchase this for its stylish clean look, not for its durability.
oh dear Ikea!RobertI used to love Ikea lamps, always a great quality at a great price....and now this! Not really sure where to start. The 'metal' is so cheap it was actually dented in 2 places. They obviously switched from amazing shades to flat packed and this 'new shade is just awful; cheapest material and wonky. Even the electrical chord has changed color from what used to be a less visible white to cheap black. Overall this product has failed my expectations. Bing back KLABB please, I would be happy to pay the extra money.

Stylish, functional bedside lampErkanI bought two Tomelilla lamps to place on top of two IKEA MALM two-drawer bedside chests and it looks really great. The light switch is at a very comfortable distance. I can wake up and turn it on/off. It almost looks like a hotel room bedside lamp. I recommend this product and I think it is worth the price.
