This Matter Device Is A FlopMelissaSo far, I bought two and are not listed in the Homey Pro official IKEA app; completely forgot about this device. All the other matter devices are there but not thing one. SHAME! Pairing via matter, tried 10 times, no luck. No manual to find on the product page, another fail. Trying to pair next to my Homey Pro, nothing. All other IKEA matter devices worked instantly. This one, which I bought two of, failed.
A bit finicky to adopt with some QC IssuesMikeIt took a couple of attempts to get it to adopt. I had to unplug it a few times and restart my phone before it finally worked, which isn't that big of a deal all things considered. However, out of the box the right rubber cover was not attached. Upon closer inspection nothing looked broken or ripped, it was just not attached from the factory. This was the last one in stock and I'm not planning on using this outdoors so I've decided to keep it, but buyers be warned. It's probably a good idea to check it before you leave IKEA and when adopting it to use an easy to access outlet in case you need to power cycle.
Works great…cover fell off on day 1IanFunctions great as a smart plug, but the remolded rubber plug broke within 30 minutes of use. Very poor quality
Critical mistake made, this is only an End Device, so it will not extend your Thread networkNathanThe EU version of this plug is a Router, but per Home Assistant, the US version is only an end device. Huge miss on this, as a mesh extension for outdoor use would have been brilliant.
Other than that huge mistake, seems to work well enough. Does support full 15A, so they didn't cheap out there.
