Towel barJayneI can’t get the suction cups to stick to my glass shower. I’ve cleaned it per the instructions. I also tried wetting the suction cups to no avail.
Did not holdJessicaSadly, this rack did not work on my shower wall. One suction cup held lightly while the other would not hold, despite multiple attempts. I cleaned the area first as recommended, and I’m not sure if it’s necessary, but I pushed the cups for at least a minute with strong pressure, before leaving them overnight without the bar. When I saw they had stayed on overnight, I was hopeful, but the weight of the bar alone was enough to remove the suction again. No chance of holding a towel. It’s too bad, I really liked the look of this and had hopes of using it.
not suctionyLynnThe rubber part was thick and sticky, but didn't really work like a suction cup (which usually spreads out quite a bit when you push on it). We tried it on an IKEA cabinet, and it didn't stick. It came loose quite quickly. I think it will only work on tile or glass, and maybe not very reliable even then.

Tisken towel barJI bought two tisken towel racks about 1 year ago. One has been great, no problem. The other one has not. I followed IKEA's recommendations for "resetting" suction cups to no avail. It broke after it fell, and I bought another, which has never worked. I am returning it . I have Ranen baskets in my showers. Those suction cups seem to work much better. Unfortunately IKEA stopped that line.

Totally impressed--a must for apartment and dormsAnonymous reviewerWhen I purchased this product, it was for an apartment with no shelving and only one towel rack. I attached this directly to my large bathroom mirror and was pleasantly surprised at how tight it holds to the glass. I am using this as my hand towel rack, as it will hold 2 hand towels nicely, without extending it to make it larger. I loved this piece so much, I went back and purchased other pieces in the line, to place on my shower walls and a mirror in a second bathroom.

Suction Cups are FaultyReneeAs a renter I was excited for these, but alas not all of the suction cups work. I bought the tisken towel rack and only one of the suction cups works. It falls down within 10 minutes and is left hanging there by only one suction. I also bought the tisken corner shelf, and both suction cups work amazingly! And two individual hooks, they fell down within the hour. Out of 6 suction cups total 3 work (2 perfectly, 1 so-so) and the other 3 don't work at all.

Better grip for flexible storage
The movable suction cup is a smart wall mount for flexible bathroom storage. The only problem is that it can come off after a while. Suddenly you hear a thump in the bathroom, and the shampoo bottle is on the floor. So, how do you make the suction cup attach better? Product developer Kristofer Adsegård and his colleagues – responsible for TISKEN bathroom series – wanted to find out.
Kristofer and the team started by studying in detail how a suction cup works. “It attaches because there’s a vacuum between the suction cup and the surface. But, if air comes in, the vacuum breaks and plop – your hanger comes off. It can be something small, like dirt and limescale on the wall, or tiny irregularities on the tile that eventually let air in,” says Kristofer.

To make your TISKEN bathroom series last longer, it’s important to handle the suction cups right. Kristofer explains that you shouldn’t pull the hook or other parts to make them come off, since it can damage the grip. “To release the vacuum, it’s better to use your bank card, or some other plastic card, between the suction cup and the wall. And, if you put the suction cup in water near boiling point for a few minutes, and then air dry it, it will become almost like new again.”
