Product details

If you oil, wax, lacquer or stain the untreated solid wood surface it will be more durable and easy to care for.

The hard-wearing solid pine has natural variations in grain, color and texture, giving every piece a unique look.

There’s plenty of space under the bed for storage boxes - perfect for storing extra duvets and pillows.

You can easily vacuum under the bed frame to keep the space clean and dust-free.

LÖNSET slatted bed base with curved slats and comfort zones helps keep your spine aligned, while the open construction allows air to circulate and keeps the mattress fresh.

Reviews

I like itChristineThe bed frame is simple, and natural pine. I like the slatted headboard. Unfortunately, one of the screws fell out, but I figured out how to replace it. I didn’t think that should have happened, given that I had the bed for one week. The other thing about IKEA is that their pricing is deceiving. You basically have to pay for every piece in order to put the bed together.5
Nice bedTrishGood size and recommend the upgraded slats for base. It's a little shorter than I expected so if you have mobility issues might be hard to get up4
So far so goodAnonymous reviewerI got this bed a few days ago with the lönset supports and the only issue is our mattress is about an inch too wide but that’s probably because it’s foam and has never been in a frame like this so it’s expanded sideways. The frame itself is simple to assemble if you’re paying close attention to screw hole dots and also have a mallet not just a hammer. The tiny metal bars for meant to keep the side boards from bowing out are annoying but that was the worst part for me. I managed to assemble it myself while hugely pregnant and the dogs “helped”. I definitely don’t recommend the lönset slays unless you hate yourself though because those made me cry. The slats themselves are almost impossible to get threw the stupid fabric piece and then fit into the rubber pieces but that’s not the bed frames fault5
Hard to assembleAnonymous reviewerI bought this bed for its minimal woody look and because it’s cheaper than other beds but I had to spend three hours assembling it. The pieces that connects the lower part with the headboard is so hard. The holes are small and the pieces are big, I couldn’t put them together. I had to flip the whole bed upside down and push down hard until it worked. Also instructions to put the headboard together wasn’t really clear so I made a mistake in that too. What is best about this bed is it’s minimal look. The bed is great but try to get help putting it together because one person won’t be able to do it.2
Durable and timelessAnonymous reviewerWe have had this bed frame with the LUROY slat and firm MATRAND mattress for five years and it has held up through it all, and likely lots more. We put some FIXA felt pads underneath to make it easier to move, and there's enough space underneath for four big SAMLA boxes. I'm surprised by the amount of people who have had problems. I've noticed that it's usually because the assembly directions weren't correctly followed.5
Good concept, but not well-executedAnonymous reviewerI normally love IKEA beds! I've been through several post-college, and was excited to happen upon this *all-wood* version (I thought no particle board would be a good thing!). After about a year and a half of use,2
Wood QualityAnonymous reviewerI've noticed that the wood used for this bed are apparently scrap wood that is glued together and then milled to size. It appears that the people supplying the wood to IKEA may be trying to make a few extra bucks. If you try to stain the wood, it will look quite obvious as there are several portions of wood which are of varying types. This surprises me coming from IKEA. Assembly is not difficult and goes rather quickly. I can't rate a full five for this reason. Also, I worry about heavy people using the bed and getting a little bouncy on it that the wood would break at the glued joints.4
Grate frame bedAnonymous reviewerGreat frame bed, solid; assembly takes time but worth it.5
Nice bed frame, HORRIBLE assemblyAnonymous reviewerAs other reviewers have mentioned, assembly takes a LONG time. Make sure you have a (patient) helper who's willing to stay with it for several hours (it took us an entire evening, plus part of the next morning). Installing parts numbers 117228, which are intended to square up the frame, was unnecessarily difficult. These should either be tapped or the screws IKEA provides (parts number 117327) should be self-tapping (and have deeper drives). I ruined two perfectly good Phillips screwdriver bits trying to screw these parts together. I'd recommend tossing the screws IKEA provides and buying some decent self-tapping screws. Other than that, it's a good bed frame and seems pretty solid.4
Dead Honest Review!!!!!Anonymous reviewerSo I bought this bed and the assembly was honestly not that bad. Me and my husband were able to complete it in like 2 and a half hours. I've had the bed for almost two years now and everything has been pretty good.... Now here's the honesty. Me and my husband are kinda on the bigger side, I'm 6'0 he body builds and is near 300ish side. This bed has held up for a long time thought all our WILDNESS lol. But as of 4 days ago the bed met its doom... (MORE HONESTY DONE JUDGE JUST TAKE THE DANG REVIEW) this only happen after I did a a sweet frog splash off of another Ikea piece of furniture (that I might do a review on) onto a suit case to close it (ONCE AGAIN NO JUDGEMENT!) Since this bed has held up so well for so long I didn't think I was going to do any harm to it but HEY, The more you know! (rainbow effect) With all that being said, once we get back home we will probably be going to Ikea to purchase the same exact bed.5
Nice Bed, however, assembly is a bearAnonymous reviewerHave not quarels so far with the bed. Its the perfect height off the floor, is light, and is a simple design which I like. I am a pretty compitent handyman, however, this bed took 5+ hours to assemble (including the two base peices). MAKE SURE you have a cordless drill with correct bits before starting to lessen the burden. Do not think the wrenches in the box are suffice for such a job. I even used some #10-21/2 inch long wood screws rather than the provided hardware on the Lonet base when constructing each of the base peices in that I have a queen bed. Don't get me wrong, I like the bed, but please have the necessary tools and some extra time to assemble. Laslly, this is raw wood and I did incurr some splinters along the way so please watch yourself, clear coat before hand, and/or wear some workmens gloves when handling during assembly. Hope this helps, happy sleeping!!4
Good design but exhausting to construct, squeakyAnonymous reviewerI'm so glad I bought this over holiday break because similar to other reviewers, this bed took me a looooong time to put together, 6.5 hours, in fact, and I am an experienced designer who puts together all of my own furniture and installations. I didn't rush things because I didn't want to make a mistake and have to re-do anything but wow, that took a lot of time. Another reason not to rush is that the slats for the Lonset version are rather rough and could cause tiny splinters, definitely not what I want over the holidays especially. The bed frame seems sturdy and well-constructed; I am nervous about what others have stated about the sides bowing out but hopefully the adjustable metal diagonal pieces will help to mitigate that problem. The design is nice and simple, just what I wanted. Fingers crossed for a good night's sleep finally! The one major issue I have is that Ikea neglected to include the full number of plastic buffers (I took photos of instructions and my work-around but can't seem to upload here to the review) for the center of the bed frame metal brackets. There are holes in the metal at center but no plastic buffers included for those two center spots and no inclusion of that in the instructions. The issue is that, once I put it all together, any pressure causes the center-sides to push down and clank against the metal. That simply will not do, to have that noise and clanking every time you lay down or sit on the bed or potentially for there to be wood snapping! I am not that heavy so this is just strange that they neglected this part of the design. I'm sure there was some idea about allowing give for the center but that is just a nuisance. I created a work-around using some small plastic nibs (black cylinder with a hole), felt at top, and a screw. The height is just a little lower than the white plastic nibs at head and foot of bed so that should allow a little give while also stopping the slats from touching the metal ledge, and will keep everything level.3
One of the better beds I bought from IKEA!Anonymous reviewerI don't ever post reviews on IKEA but I feel like to say something about this bed after seeing some of the negative reviews. For various reasons I had to buy beds almost every year for the past 5 years. I bought tarva this year and it's my favorite. Things I like the most are: 1) easy to assemble. It comes in only 1 package and I was able to get in done within 2 hours. 2) very sturdy, no squeaky sounds 3)very light-weight, easy to move around 4) very affordable! On the other side, the wood is untreated. I got hurt...so either wear gloves or apply coating oil before assembly. Many reviewers complained step no.17 in the manual and thought they receive wrong components. But other IKEA beds have this problem, too. I never really tightened the screws on the metal strips - it's impossible - for my beds and have 0 issues. But I would suggest IKEA engineers to revise this supporting system.5
OK value; wrong screwsAnonymous reviewerScrews provided to secure metal struts to frame incapable of threading/penetrating the sheet metal they need to penetrate. Had to go to hardware store to finish job. Efforts to telephone Ikea for help kept reaching a recording saying call cannot be completed. Lastly, the solid wood product has joints in decorative wood parts as small as 2 x 2 x 60.2
Surprised By the Quality for the PriceAnonymous reviewerI was a bit hesitant to purchase this bed because of the bad reviews, but after reading them all, I decided to purchase it. I recommend reading all the reviews on an IKEA product, as I have found many bad reviews are laughable - especially ones where the customer was outraged to find they had to construct the item! I did not have any problems assembling this bed and it is sturdy enough to keep my firm IKEA mattress from sagging in the middle, as one or two reviews claimed happened with their beds. The wood is sanded very smooth and looked great after I finished it using a beeswax rub. If you want a nice natural finish for wood, heat equal parts beeswax and coconut oil over low heat and when melted add 1 teaspoon natural lemon oil. Let cool and it should be of a paste wax consistency - if too hard melt in a little more coconut oil and if too soft add beeswax. Rub in well with a cotton cloth then buff with a second cloth.5
PLEASE HELPAnonymous reviewerCannot for the life of me figure out step 7 - are these the metal tubes? How am I supposed to hammer them into holes much smaller than they are!?3
Great bed at a great priceAnonymous reviewerBought this bed frame (twin size) 3 years ago. It was easy for me and a friend to put together, and lasted me right up until I moved. Now that is no small feat as I'm about 350 lbs. The movers lost some of the connection pieces and bent some of the others, so now I am looking at buying a new bed, definitely sticking with Ikea.5
