The lid closes slowly and softly, which reduces the risk of pinching your fingers.
The inner container has a ring that holds the waste bag in place. The ring is removable, either for easy cleaning or if you do not want to use it
The pedal bin is easy to move since it has a grip-friendly overhang on the back.
Pedal bin that is nice-looking enough to have visible – regardless if you need a large waste container or want to sort more bulky objects such as paper and bottles.

Sleek & sturdy BrittneyIt’s sturdy and the soft close is great. I love the sleek look and having a foot pedal when I my hands are tied up. It also keeps the smells inside.
Looking Nice KatherineAt first, I was disappointing trash bags won’t fit trash but thanks to one of the comments mentioned watch video. Now the bag fits fine. Many people didn’t realize they should pull small trash can out of the trash bin . then 13 gallon trash bag will fit to it. U return it back inside.

Impossible to buy bags that fit, dont buy. DarinTitle. What a terrible design, you cannot find bags to fit its massive mouth. Even 20 gallon bags dont fit.

First day of use and pedal brokeElizabethIt’s beautiful! For that I would give it a five star. But pedal broke first day! While I know it has warranty just by looking at how the pedal works (now that it is unassembled) I know next one will break too.
I’m so sad cause the design is beautiful and looked so nice in my home. But actual mechanism needs an update so it can last long. After all, it does cost $100 and should at least last a couple of years!
2nd bin - foot peddle brokenMichelleI already returned my first one that was delivered broken. The replacement came with dents in the side which I didn't have time to declare to be honest. 3 weeks later, the foot peddle is now broken. Poor quality for the price paid in my opinion. It certainly looks good and sturdy but it isn't. I bought this online after relocating to Florida, I have no means to return it.
Pedal brokeRachelleThe can was fine until the pedal broke just after having it barely a year. I know things don't last forever, but I would expect to get more than a year of use for a $100 waste bin.
Good product. Watch the video!LisaCurrently, that little piece of the inside frame is broken on my trash can. (The little plastic part that sits on top). I have tried to superglue it to no avail. I will reach out to my local Ikea store to see if a replacement is available. That said, I have used the trash can for over a year with no problems. I see a LOT of reviews that complain about the can not taking a standard 13 gallon bag. WATCH THE VIDEO on the product page on the Ikea website. The bag goes over the small piece of the inside frame (the small plastic part that sits on top) NOT over the bucket itself. EVERY 13 gallon bag I have used fits fine. Glad bags fit the best, in my opinion. Sadly, though, since that little piece is broken on mine, now I get to have the struggle everyone else has trying to stretch a bag over the bucket part. Hoping Ikea will provide a replacement (happy to pay for it).

I have tried a few different brands of bags and nothing works. I literally fight with it for 20 minutes before giving up. We threw away the packaging so we can't return this and get our money back. I'm so mad I spent $100 on this and can't use it.

not great.Marleeit looks like it will be super nice and hide the garbage bag, and function well. i've had this trash can for a few weeks, and it just doesn't cut it.
1) it doesn't fit your average 13 gallon bag. or super stretchy ones. you'll have to wrestle the inner can to get it on there.
2) the top can liner piece doesn't really do anything. it just sits there. it does not hide the trash bag: your trash bag will hang out.
3) it doesn't have great functionality. other cans that are cheaper (*cough*, kohler) are able to fully hide the bag, lock the garbage can open, and overall function better.
4) the garbage can footpedal isn't very responsive and is really clunky.
i've since replaced this trash can with one from costco, and i'm much happier now.

Nice can……AmandaThis trashcan is very pretty and just the right size, but make sure you get the XL 20 gallon trash bags. It is almost impossible to stretch a 13 gallon bag around the edges and have it work properly. The pedal is a little hard to depress at times as well.
Looks are deceiving.SarahCame with a big dent in the side. Fixed that. Not two weeks went by and the soft close feature stopped working. We fixed it and it keeps re-breaking itself (Piston bends). Terrible mechanical design. Save yourself the trouble, pay the same amount of money to a different company, and get a similar looking trashcan that gets thousands of glowing reviews. This one is going back.
Not worth the priceJacquelineThe lid of the can either won’t close properly or closes too tightly and when it does the lid won’t open when you step on the pedal. I’m a little disappointed with my purchase. I live too far away to return it.
