cheap looking and made from cardboardBellai regret buying this drawer. The quality is poor- the so-called "wood" feels flimsy and have two big holes on the back. Assembly was frustrating, and even after putting it together carefully, the drawer is uneven and wobbly. It looks nice on the photo but in reality it feels cheap and so not worth the money. Definitely not recommended1

Love it.JoyceHi. I was reading reviews and thought I would put my 2 cents in. I bought this chest many years ago, at least 15. It has been through a lot, including moving. As near as I can recall, it was not any harder to put together than other pieces I have worked with. I am still using it as is, with the exception of replacing the original drawer bottoms. It has been a great deal!5

Malm was way betterAnnaUnlike others I found the assembly easy as always. I had no trouble and it didn’t take any longer than normal ikea stuff for me. BUT the drawers aren’t aligned properly. I just spent however long putting this together and the drawers being off kilter makes it so if I want to put two next to each other it’ll cause problems. The malms seem so much more sturdy and I really loved the wood veneered option. I’m putting together my second on in hopes this was a lemon. If so I’ll update the review. 2
Great chest of drawers and solid!HelenThis is a sturdy, modern chest of drawers. My teen son put it together himself for his new teen room refresh and it took only a couple of hours. It's a sturdy solution and very attractive with plenty of storage and smooth movement of the drawers. 5
Just what I neededValeriePerfect style and size for my needs, drawers easily open and close. Purchased 5 varied sized units for a wall of mounted drawers. Looks great and way more affordable than custom cabinet installation. Had a professional carpenter install everything including wall mounting and cove molding around edges against walls to close gap between furniture and walls.5
Do not bother DI rarely leave bad reviews, but this dresser has been an absolute nightmare. Assembly was difficult due to vague instructions and unlabeled parts, but I managed, with help, to build the base. The real issue came with the drawers: every single one had misaligned holes, causing large gaps, and some parts had screw holes on the wrong side entirely. I could not use the drawers at all. These are clear manufacturing defects. But the worst part? The customer service. I called three times to arrange a return. Each time, I was assured a pickup was scheduled, only to find out on the third call that no pickup had ever been placed. I was lied to, repeatedly. Between the poor quality and the blatantly dishonest customer service, this purchase has caused nothing but stress. Save yourself the frustration don’t buy this dresser. 1
NOTHING LIKE THE ORIGINALNazI was so excited to buy this thinking it was the standard Malm i had bought 3 or so yrs ago. It had deep drawers, tall and very sturdy. But other than the way it looks its nothing like the original!!! The purchase and delivery was smooth, installation was fine but time consuming. It took two of us 3 hours to set it up completely (unattached to the wall). They also added VERY VERY ANNOYING safety feature where u cannot have multiple drawers open at the same time. The drawers feels small and short, the dresser isnt as tall as the previous one. Im so disappointed and sad. If I had not spent hours setting it up I def would have returned it.1
Nice but ...MelThese are really nice They include a feature so that you do not open lots of doors at one time. We were not expecting that since we were thinking we were purchasing the same ones that we did 20 years ago.. You can only open one drawer at a time. And this drawer is 2 inches smaller than the original ones. They are a little difficult to put together at first, but once you get the hang of it, it'll be fine. We love IKEA for their value and their quality. I would buy this again which technically I will be very soon but just know that if you have the originals, this one is 2 inches smaller and the doors cannot open at multiple times. Oh, and the instructions are the worst lol product should be super labeled.4
