Product details

The sideboard in walnut veneer and solid ash brings a warm, natural feeling to your room.

The distinctive grain pattern in the walnut veneer gives each piece of furniture a unique character.

Walnut is a naturally hardwearing material. The surface has been made even more durable by a protective coat of lacquer.

Push openers give the sideboard a streamlined look with no handles or knobs needed.

Inside the sideboard are two drawers and two adjustable shelves in walnut veneer and solid wood.

The sideboard has adjustable feet so it stands evenly on uneven floors.

    Care

    Wipe clean using a damp cloth and a mild cleaner.

    Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

    Rub the wooden rails with candle wax now and then to keep the drawer sliding smoothly.

Nice unit except for drawers.PaulOverall this is an attractive and well made sideboard. However , there is one major flaw. The two drawers only pull out half way. I called customer support to inquire if there is any adjustment to allow the drawers to pull out all the way. No one had an answer to my question.3

I loved it...at first. Wasted money. EduardoI really liked the minimalist lines of the Stoclkholm sideboard and the walnut finish but 5 months later it has turned ORANGE!!! I don't even know if the veneer can be sanded and restained. I know would patinas modify to a degree but Orange??? Disappointing. Not money well spent. 1

Cool but flawed, like most IKEA furnitureDanielWhile I do enjoy my new sideboard, assembling it was a nightmare, and the finished product is not something I'm totally happy with. While assembling, the instructions could not have been less clear. For instance, each door has its own set of bespoke hinges but the instructions do not mention this once, I had to learn by trial and error. Secondly, the top-most piece has a specific orientation that it calls for but the instructions do not mention anything about which way it should face. My sideboard is fully assembled and I have to now stare at the seam of two veneer pieces coming together. Either avoid or make sure there are no seams prior to assembly. 3

GarbageHeidiFirst, I’m a big IKEA fan. Own and have assembled countless pieces of furniture. That said, this one is absolute garbage. The doors, hinges and magnetic closing mechanisms are utterly flawed. Assembly was a breeze until the doors. Instructions are not great - reading reviews helped. Looking at the finished piece, I’m hugely disappointed. It looks cheap, yet it wasn’t! The legs are weirdly thick and awkward looking. I will be returning .1

Material

What is veneer?

A veneer is a thin wooden sheet attached to things like particleboard to add a durable surface and a natural wood look – so we enjoy the many benefits of wood without using solid wood. The most common veneer types are birch, ash, oak, and beech, and we’ve made a special UV lacquer that helps preserve the wood's natural structure. A benefit with a slightly thicker veneer is how you can repair and sand the surface if it’s damaged to give furniture a longer and more beautiful life.

Details create long-term quality. When I designed the STOCKHOLM series, I used lacquer that protects the surface and makes the material feel natural. The big picture was key, and the robust look is also on the inside and the backside. The slightly higher legs add simplicity to the expression and the table’s soft lines and the straight design of the storage units create contrasts, just like in nature. The result is timeless furniture ‒ just as beautiful alone as together!
