Love this bed frame LisaThis bed frame is really beautiful and vintage and it’s very easy to assemble. My husband assembled it so it was a quick job for him to finish. The bed frame is very sturdy and it adds a nice vintage and classy effect to your room. I highly recommend this bed frame with some nice bedding.5
A nice looking bed but a pain to assemble. JesseI really like the look of this bed. But hands down this is the single most frustrating to assemble piece of furniture. Since the components are metal they are very heavy and require stabilization to assemble. The problem is to secure the pieces to each other requires you to tighten a bolt using an Allen wrench. That sounds like no big deal but to access the bolt you have to angle the wrench sideways through a small oval hole and turn it ever so slightly then adjust the wrench and do it again. You have to do this 8 times in total while also stabilizing the bed components at the same time. We dropped so many beams and made so much noise it was exhausting. Seriously the whole thing fell apart several times in a calamity that made us nearly give up. One of the bolts got bent in the process so despite soldiering on and finally assembling it I'm concerned about long term stability. And after only a month it creaks every time we get into it. Looks great but ... Maybe pass. 4
ALREADY CREAKINGPaul2 months in and it is ALREADY CREAKING. And I don't mean from shifting or major movements, you can slide your foot slightly and it will creak. You will never sleep peacefully on this frame. This was already such a hassle to fit into our SUV and to assemble only for the product to be a complete dud and a total waste of money, I honestly think I am done with IKEA after this purchase.1
Works greatsFridaWe ended up using our own boxed spring and it looks great! So far no problems5
Awesome and sturdy bedAdamThis bed it awesome. I didn't know how much I wanted a metal bed frame until this. Bought it for our new Nectar mattress and adjustable bases. They fit perfected in side this frame. We could also sit them on slats if we wanted, but just have them sitting on the ground and it's a tight fit with the frame that keeps it from moving around. I love the metal frame because I like to kick my foot out from the covers when I get hot and putting it on a cold metal frame is great at night. The color is great and the craftsman ship it great. You can get it assembled with one person, but easier with two. My young daughter helped me and we were done in no time. This is easily my favorite bed frame I've ever owned which is why I had to write a review.5
Horrible bedTroyI injured myself putting this together. I bent it and now it won't go together because it requires 3 people to hold on to it. Damaged my new apartment. Terrible design. 1
Sturdy bed LeslieThis was exactly what we were looking for. This bed is very good quality. The only issue I have is that it is higher than what I have been wanted. 5
Love thisShelleyI love my bed! I have the king size with a sleep number mattress. It is so classy looking. I haven’t had a nice looking bed in 15 years and this one makes me proud. I bought the Lonset slats and bunkie boards and it’s perfect. The bed is well made and worth the money. 5
Stjarno bed frame GeorgeGreat frame for the price I purchased this to replace an existing IKEA full size frame in white, which was excellent, but simply wanted to go with a black frame which contrasts nicely with white shiplap I had installed Very happy with my purchase 5
STURDY AND CUTEAngelaCute vintage design, and very quiet, the metal is not loud or heavy. 5
Nice solid bed at a great price!BrettWe love everything about the bed, the only issue is we had to wait about two months for it to be in stock since it’s constantly sold out.5
Sturdy and Cheap Bed FrameAllisonI wanted a cheap frame, but I needed it to be study enough to last several years. I settled on the Stjarno, and I am very satisfied with my purchase. I was even able to fit the boxes in my Subaru! The frame itself is good-looking and very study--I have no concerns about durability. I was concerned about assembly from others' reviews; however, it wasn't bad at all. It took my partner and I less than 45 minutes to build. I'm not sure what took others so long. The build instructions were subpar, by IKEA standards, but there's literally only 6 pieces to put together, so it was easy enough to figure things out without quality instructions. When building, do not fully screw in the screws in the headboard/footboard before attaching the sideboards--leave about 1/4" of threads out, then fully tighten AFTER installing the sideboards. The instructions did not clearly show this. Without that hiccup, I think we would've built it in sub-30-minutes. 5
Love this bed frame !!!AdinaLooks great and goes with the theme of my room perfectly (vintage!). Directions were very clear and the bed came together easily within an hour and a half! My main advice for people assembling this bed… don’t screw in those bolts you attach the side boards to even 8 times. This was my main frustration w the directions… they should basically be loose to slide the side board on and then you will tighten them in a later step. 8x initially was too much and I had to unscrew them a lot to slide the slat on, but yeah! Other than that easy peasy and it looks amazing. Delivery was also great (we couldn’t fit the frame in the car)5
Does the job for the priceR.Greg did not read the instructions. ;-) ∙∙∙∙∙∙∙∙∙∙
From opening the boxes to having the bed assembled and ready to use took about 70 minutes.
Look folks, this is a $200 bed frame, you get what you pay for. Will it last with a bunch of kids jumping on it every day? Probably not, so go to a traditional furniture store and get a $1500 bed for that. But if you need a bed for your guests to sleep in, that looks good, this is a win.
It's a powder coated steel frame, so there is no plastic or wood to break or bend. Yes, the clips that keep the slats extended in place are plastic; So yes, IKEA could have spent the extra $2 and specified metal retainers, but it's not like they are under any stress once installed.5
Who designed this?!GregHands down, this is the worst piece of IKEA furniture I’ve ever come across. To assemble: stick a round screw through an oval hole. Jam an Allen wrench into the oval hole and tighten the stupid screw 1/8th of a turn at a time.
Assembly of this stupid bed frame took me like three hours. Now I’m disassembling this damned thing and it’s taking me just as long.
Plus the slats for the mattress are held in place with plastic. I wouldn’t do anything in this bed beyond lie perfectly prostrate for fear of it collapsing.
This thing is terrible. Full stop. Do not buy. 1
Lovely, sturdy and comfyMargaretThis bed is exactly the look I wanted for my bedroom. I love that there is no center leg giving clean lines underneath. The height is perfect and higher than some IKEA platform beds. It's sturdy and feels very solid once assembled. TIP IN ASSEMBLY: When you screw in the pieces to the headboard/footboard to attach the sides, DO NOT SCREW IN ALL THE WAY (this is noted in the instructions). Make sure the side pieces slot in to the space between the screw head and the headboard by pushing them down into place before moving on to attach the footboard. If you don't do this, everything will fall apart and you will have to start over. 5
Old fashionMarySimple, elegant, sturdy, & my kind of taste that is available. 5
Perfect fitDonnyThis bet is a perfect fit. 5
Great Bed & Good Looking Too! Anonymous reviewerwe love this bed, easy to assemble and very sturdy, I looked for a while because I prefer a taller headboard so when the bed is made up and the pillows are sitting pretty you can still see the headboard, not all beds/headboards allow for that. 5
Time to size up BethMy daughter wanted to invest in a queen size bed. We love that it can be versatile for the future 5
