Drawers catchShelleyWe have two other Songesand dressers and they are great. This one I’m not impressed by. The drawers catch and don’t open and close smoothly. We had to order new rails for one drawer and it still doesn’t seem right. 2
Drawers only half-openAnnaExtremely disappointed in this product. We even bought 2 and every day I have to open them, I get angry (not even an exaggeration). We had them delivered without testing them out in store. Once they were assembled, the hassle of bringing them back to the store already assembled sounded way too daunting. How do I even get them there in my small car? So over it. I want to sell them but I would feel terrible even selling them to someone else. Also, they look terrible in person. I feel like I have office furniture in my primary bedroom. 1
Unusable drawers...YulyThe dresser is sturdy and looks great, but the drawers don't fully open and you lose a lot useful space in the back. If Ikea found a way for other dressers to not tip over without losing functionality, it really needs to do the same for this one.
You'll have to buy new drawer sliders and install them to make the drawers usable.1

My only recommendation is to update the paper instructions and online pdf to include the gaps from top/bottom side pieces. Common sense prevailed for me, so not a huge issue but others might not be logical. Other than that, I’m satisfied. Again, I love it. We bought 2.5
Still decentFranciaWe have an older Songesand dresser and it’s true that this new model’s drawers come out 2 inches less than the older model, which is annoying. The rest of the construction is still pretty solid for the price so we’re making it work. 4

Drawers Don't Open All the WayErnestDon't buy this unless you're okay with the drawers opening less than halfway. Ridiculous and pointless to have such a shallow opening.
IKEA clearly does not care much for their customer experience as the only solution they offer is "You're welcome to visit our Returns Desk..."1

Such disappointment!!! TatianaI have had two exact dressers and they were great! It’s been about 1.5-2 years … and I decided to add one more… putting them all three together… listen… what happened??? Rails shortage? Why do drawers barely open??? And it’s such a pain to realize that after you done assembling!!!

Not the Expected IKEA QualityConnieI have bought many IKEA furniture items over the years, dressers, kitchen island, bookcases, TV stands, bed frame, night stands. Two years ago I bought this dresser in the six drawer style and LOVE it. I recently bought this smaller dresser and am VERY disappointed. Poor quality. The fiberboard was disintegrating as I was putting in the screws. Not the same quality as the one I purchased two years ago. I expected better from IKEA.1

I bought it for my son's room and a friend came over to assemble. 4 hours later she was so upset to show us that the drawers open less than half way. My 9 yr old was so confused about why? So now, in the week before we move in I need to return the built dresser (by myself) to make room and find a new one. Save yourself trouble unless the drawers will never be needed. 1

Very easy to put together, wouldn’t have taken as long if I’d just sat down and did it all at once. Didn’t notice the problem so many are having with the drawers. They are so spacious I can’t imagine having an issue, can still see what is in them and no issue reaching anything. One thing I don’t like is the pieces that form the back leave a significant gap at the top and bottom, 2-3 inches each. Living in a rural area we inevitably get mice 1-2 x’s a year and I worry about having a dresser with open areas that would allow them to get into it. Not sure what these gaps saved on cost but feel like it should have been completely closed to have a finished back side. The safety devices go into the upper gap area but feel this could have been configured differently to accomplish the same task. Am now looking for something to cover the back. Otherwise it looks great and appears to be a good, low cost, quality piece of furniture. 3
