Beautiful design - worst IKEA product I ever purchasedLesleyI should have read the reviews first. I am not the only one with this experience. This lamp requires batteries (sold separately) which is not an issue but the fact that the battery compartment cannot be opened without stripping the screws is the issue. Tried 4 screwdrivers, over a dozen heads, bought two of these lamps which are unusable because they cannot be opened to put the batteries in. The text free instructions don't help this situation either. I never imagined I could have a negative IKEA experience. Their design and packaging are always ingenious. Not sure who designed what is effectively attractive garbage is but it is definitely worth a recall. Or a link with a video on HOW this can be made to work. Thank goodness it is limited edition. Maybe the number of customers turned off IKEA by this product will be small.
