Love the red!!AllisonI spent a loooooong time deciding before purchasing. Got this to replace a couch that was damaged due to excessive stains. I needed something that could be cleaned if needed. My old couch was also not very deep so difficult for 2 people to cuddle. Even though this one takes up more space, it's my cuddle sofa. It also looks spacious in my space because I didn't get arm rests. I was going to go for the neutral, Tonerud, grey color but at the last minute I went for red. I love it! Sorry it's going out of stock. I'm tempted to buy the arm rests in red before they sell out, just in case! Tbh, Finnala is my favorite sofa in terms of comfort, but the sofa that fit all my specific needs was the Soderhamn.5
Not comfortable KathyStylist but not comfortable. The material kinda rough to sit on. The color beige looks more of a lighter gray. Should have double checked with the color before I bought it ..purchased in store when they were having problems with electrical and internet that day so I can’t see other options with colors :/ 3
Wrinkles due to poor quality cushion insertsCeciliaDisappointing! The cushion inserts are covered with a non-fabric material that has deep seated wrinkles. It cannot be ironed because it is nylon plastic. It makes the seats look terrible. Such a pity that a beautiful sofa is ruined by the material that covers the inserts. Outside fabric is good, but it gets wrinkled due to the under cushion cover. I will return it.

New Version different than floor modelAnonymous reviewerI purchased this couch after trying the floor model at the ikea store. There is a noticable difference in quality with the version I received, unfortunately. The interior cushions are made with a lower quality fabric lining that is very coarse and paper-y, much less soft than the version at the store. The fabric audibly 'crumples' every time its squished. The sofa cover is high quality, soft, and made with a lot of cotton, so It's dissapointing that the quality of the interior liners don't match. The floor model should be updated to be the exact version that will be sold, and it feels unfair that I was given something different than what was advertised. 3
Stylish but uncomfortable GuerganaI bought the fridtuna gray version of this couch and it looks very sleek in my modern living room. Low profile and clean lines. Easy to vacuum under it so it’s practical. I didn’t buy arm rests because it’s in a corner anyway. However I do wish the seat cushions were fuller! The back cushions are great but it’s so uncomfortable to lay down. The problem is especially bad in the middle where the two cushions seem to have a 2-3 inch gap. No matter how I zip the cushions, the gap is inevitable. Is it bad enough that I would rent a truck and return this? No. I figure if I can get 5 years out of this couch, it’s worth it. But be warned that it’s ok to sit on and not really fine for laying down. I would feel terrible asking a guest to sleep on this so at least I know I’m safe from overstaying guests!3
A fine couchAnonymous reviewerI bought this when returning to grad school, for a studio apartment. It's just fine. The parts are a little annoying to zip together, but no big deal. Unlike some here, i don't find it uncomfortable and I even had a guest sleep on it. I wouldn't do that for multiple days, but for one night it worked out. Now I am home from grad school and I put it as a second couch in our living room. I will say that the original fabric is a magnet for cats, it basically feels like a scratching post. But there are many companies online making replacement covers, so I got one in a pet-proof velvet. It has been 5 years and it's holding up well. Not bad for the price. 4
Love itDanielaI love this couch, it looks great and is really spacious 4
Uncomfortable JayI really wanted to like this sofa because it looks great, and the IKEA staff at the pick-up location were incredibly kind and helpful. However, it's uncomfortable, especially in the middle section. You can't sit or lie down comfortably due to the lack of support. I even tried adding a cushion underneath the seating, but that didn’t help much. If you're looking for a sofa that allows you to use the entire seating area comfortably, this isn't the one. You can only sit comfortably on the individual sections, and lying down is uncomfortable without extra cushioning in the middle. Unfortunately, returning it would be too much hassle, as it's a 2.5-hour drive and would require renting a car. I really regret not testing it out in-store before buying. So disappointed."1
Not for usHanneI really wanted to love it, but we don't. The zippers on the seat cushions are broken, and it is just not a comfortable or practical couch. We are die hard ikea fans, but I wish we had never bought this couch. 2
Value for moneyElaineEasy to assemble and value for money5
Stylish and comfy! Love the deep seatsMoniqueI purchased one recently second hand and I was nervous because it has mixed reviews, but I LOVE it. Armless it feels very modern and sophisticated. The seats are so wide and deep you can curl up with plenty of room. The pillows are cozy. Some say it's too firm, but it has plenty of cushion. Even putting a 3rd person in the middle, the cushions are still comfy. I'm so happy I took a chance on it!!!! I will definitely buy extension pieces as I move into bigger spaces! Also SUPER easy to disassemble and reassemble. It is considerably low to the ground, which looks and feels amazing, just be aware it limits your options for coffee tables.5
It's overpriced now.SodamI purchased the exact one on August 2022 and it was $500. Now it is $779. I satisfied with my purchase but it is overpriced and afraid people wouldn't know.3
terribleMarinaawful quality, a pain to assemble, uncomfortable to sit or lounge, the textile is rough and looks super cheap. The zip of the covers broke immediately and the filling is very cheap. I truly feel I wasted a lot of money.1
Hot TrashCharlesKnowing I was moving with in the next 2 years, needing to replace my sofa and planning on use it in a casual space in the new place; I bought this medieval torture device.
Putting it together was like any other ikea builds. Easy but a lot going on.
The sofa itself is just not not comfortable!!! There is little support. After sitting on this cloth brick, your butt goes to sleep. And I have ample cheakage. Imagine how bad it sucks when you try to nap on it.
Next the color is not the same as the website. I have the lightest color and it is closest to a light-mid grey than a lighter grey. Further, no matter how much I clean, wash etc...the covers and pillows stay looking dingy.
DON'T DO IT. When I move I will have to buy a replacement. A complete waste of $800+1
Great couch!JimWe love our Söderhamn!5
good sofa reviewEsperanzaThe sofa is nice, a bit too low but I switched out the legs for taller ones and is much better. I liked the simplicity, not bulky for my small space but big enough to be comfortable and can sit up to 3 people depending on their size.5
