SÖDERHAMN seating series allows you to sit deeply, low and softly with the loose back cushions for extra support.

Light, airy design with high legs and slim lines, yet still a great comfort thanks to the elastic weave in the bottom and high resilience foam in the seat cushions.

You can use several chaise lounges to create the ultimate cozy corner – just be prepared that the risk is high that you’ll fall asleep during the movie.

The sofa's sections can be used freestanding or combined in different ways to get a size and shape that suits you and your home.

You can create your own perfect combination with the planning tool. Assemble, take apart and put together again until it’s just right.

The high legs make it easy to clean the floor under the chaise lounge.

This cover is made of the fabric Viarp in cotton and polyester. It has a clear texture and a mélange effect that makes it less sensitive to stains.

The cover is easy to keep clean since it can be machine washed and is easy to take off and put on again.

ChaiseKellyExactly what I expected5
Good not greatAudrey G.Easy to assemble. Comfortable enough with good back and neck support. The fabric and color is our issue. The fabric is fairly rough, and the “dark gray” pictured in the description is not accurate. It’s quite blue looking and definitely not as dark as advertised.4
It looks better than how it feels likeMartinQuickly point to a review on YouTube about how this lady bought Soderhamn wherever she moved and found out that the latest version has padding that is uncomfortable and feels cheaply made. That's exactly how it feels like.3
Great addition to the sofaFrancesAs noted, this was purchased with the 3 seater sofa. It's perfect as an addition as well as a stand alone across the room.5
Great style, awesome durability, loungeableAmy D.I got my first soderhamn chaise in early 2017. I added a two single seats later in 2017. I added a second chaise to make a large u shaped sectional in early 2019. My pieces are between 3 and 5 years old and they’ve lost no quality. My first chaise started with the no longer sold light blue linen cover which was not durable for my cat. It was her ideal scratching texture. After, I switched to the dark grey samsta which is a tight knit polyester which doesn’t tempt the cats. Covers wash great although it is time consuming to get them on and off but it’s great to do a full wash yearly and spot cleaning is easy for messes. Couch is low, so it’s not a favorite of my older relatives. Seats are deep which makes for great lounging and napping. It’s not a couch for acquaintances as it necessitates comfort. It’s a great looking couch and I’ve no plans to switch it out anytime soon.5
Comfy chaseLaurenI bought this specifically because my kids create chaos as they grow. I needed something where the cushions would be easy to remove and wash and this js exactly what I needed. Its a little short, but perfect for the kids and looks great in the living room. Easy to take the cushions off and wash and put back together. I have two sets of covers for it and I love it so far.5
Very comfortableMalikVery comfortable4
Great product and very easyKarolinaGreat product and very easy to assemble.5
Excellent productrobertoSoft and easy to assambly5
hard as a rockJean S.Looks nice and is small enough to fit in my tiny living room. It is really low to the ground, though, so looks kind of weird in the same room with normal height furniture. And it is VERY firm. My butt hurts if I'm on it more than a half hour. I would've gladly paid more for a thicker cushion. Am considering returning it for this reason.3
Love itJacobRecommended5
great chaiselauraI should have bought two, which I think I will most likely do. I like how I can lounge around the living room. Its not bulky like other furniture.5
Perfect for Dorm LifeAlisonPerfect fit. Bought some pillows to make it more comfy and it has become a perfect hang out spot.5
Easy to assemble. Perfect forMonaEasy to assemble. Perfect for my family.5
SoederhamnMaryVery easy to assemble. Lightweight. Small enough for my tiny den and short legs. Looks great! Comfortable in too5
PrettyjenniferIt's lightweight and seems pretty durable. It fits with the theme of my living room pretty well. I will be buying a cushion to stick underneath the cushion part because it is a little firm. The cushion covering was a bit confusing to figure out, but it is a looped figure 8.5
It was what I expected.JoyceIt was what I expected. I ordered two online without seeing the actual item and I wasn’t disappointed. I’m happy with them5
VERY low to the groundCECELIAThis is extremely low to the ground. I wish IKEA had an option of longer legs so it could sit a bit higher. Right now it looks like a toddler bed in the corner of my family room.3
Beautiful but...Wiggins57First, once assembled, it is a beautiful, modern piece of furniture. It’s not as white as it appears in the picture. Secondly, the directions for putting on the cover and overall are very poor. Lastly. And my biggest complaint is the size and texture of the inserts. As someone else mentioned the inserts are bigger than the cover so the the inserts bunches up giving the appearance that it was stuffed with brown paper bags. Yuck! I removed the inserts and stuffed with pillow stuffing. See pictures from before I changed inserts.3
MsFoxyBought it this Feb to fit the set of chaises we had before. Great pairing to arrange my room and coffee corner5

Our take on cotton

We use cotton in many of our products, from sofas and cushions to bed linen and mattresses. It is a soft, durable, and renewable fiber that breathes and is good at absorbing moisture. All these great qualities make cotton one of our most important materials, but it isn’t without its challenges, much having to do with conventional farming methods that negatively impact the environment and poor working conditions for farmers. With our size and production volumes, we want to drive change in the cotton industry.

Working together to drive change

Each year, IKEA uses around 0.5 percent of all cotton grown around the world. This may not seem like a lot, but the number is big enough to drive change in the industry. For many years, we have been working with partners and stakeholders globally to transform conventional large-scale cotton farming and set social and environmental standards for cotton production. As an example, we helped set up the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) who runs the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme. BCI exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future. Today, more than 110,000 farmers have adopted more sustainable farming practices within IKEA projects.

Ensuring compliance throughout the value chain

All IKEA products are produced in accordance with the IKEA IWAY Standard, our Supplier Code of Conduct. It sets out the minimum environmental and social standards expected from our suppliers, including compliance with local laws. We do not accept any form of forced labor, child labor or treatments in breach of our supply chain requirements. Our cotton teams across the globe ensure that all cotton used in IKEA products meets the demands of compliance in our supply chain. By having teams on the ground in areas where it has previously been challenging to work responsibly, we can challenge the traditional ways of working and improve the industry. If we discover that we are acting in places where we cannot ensure our requirements are being met, we follow-up on the ground and drive change.

Material

What is cotton?

Cotton is one of the world's most appreciated and used natural fibers. Textiles in cotton are soft, hardwearing and can be washed at high temperatures. They are also good at breathing and absorbing moisture – making them pleasant to wear close to the body. Today at IKEA we use more and more recycled cotton and strive to make sure that all the new cotton we use has been grown and produced with less and less amounts of pesticides, fertilizers and water.
