SKRUVBY BookcaseCindyVery nice bookcase. Real nice blue color and holds a lot of stuff. The backing was a little pain to run through the slot, but I got it with some time and patience.
Shelves Aren't Wide EnoughAndrewLooks good. Not too difficult to put together, BUT all of the shelves are too narrow to fit well once assembled--as several other reviewers have noted. Two of the shelves barely stay on the pegs and one doesn't reach both sides at all. Wouldn't trust putting any kind of weight on the shelves that do stay in place. I live a couple hundred miles from any IKEA, so I guess I'm stuck with it.
Tips for Building StevieOK so I’m leaving this review incase anyone else is also having a hard time putting this together like I did. Stand the shelf up in order to put the backing piece in and use a little painter take to keep it in place while you put the top on. This helped me a ton!! The shelf looks nice once it’s done but it’s definitely my least favorite piece of furniture I’ve ever built and I normally love Ikea. Hope this helps someone else!

Good shelf but hard to assembleSamanthaI love the size and simple look of this bookshelf, but it was way too difficult to put the backing piece in. It was very hard to slide it into place and keep it in the track on both sides and we had the hardest time fitting it into the bottom track as well. Ended up ripping one of the corners and cracking part of it. Eventually we got it out after a good fight but this would have been much better if it was the kind you nail around the outside.

Unsafe and poor qualityNavitaI have been using IKEA products for many years, but this is the most unsafe product I have come across. The shelves fell off a couple of times. Luckily it did not caused more damage than books and stuff falling down, but it could have caused injury. IKEA should fix this product

The panels have fallen twice and luckily I was at some distance and they could have caused more damage with all the books and stuff falling down. I later tried quite a few makeshifts solution but I think fundamentally this is an unsafe product. IKEA should really do safety checks for this bookshelf
Unsafe - Shelf panel way to shortSaurabhThe panel for the shelf is way to short. Not only ascetically it ruins the show it's also dangerous that the shelves can come crashing down and hurt someone. Ikea should recall this product for safety.
Love it!TaylorI bought this as part of the larger Skurvby unit. I put it together by myself with no issues. All you need is a screwdriver. It looks sooo nice and more expensive than it is. A wonderful upgrade from the cube organizer I had previously. I have the shelves completely full with books and my cat has been climbing in and out wherever she can squeeze and I've had zero issues with stability. Honestly if my room was bigger I'd buy another one.
Surprisingly not worth it. GwenI've had this bookcase for a few months. It looks great once assembled but it is poorly constructed. The screws that hold the shelves are too short, too much weight the shelves will come crashing down. I attemped to put them back up however the holes where the shelf screws weakened due to book weight. I do not recommend this book shelf. Money lost, I thought that I had found my ideal bookcase. Now I have to start over.
Do not buy this flimsy bookcase RayOrder came without the back piece ( a half sized piece was in the box that was too big for the back slot). It’s so flimsy it leans without wall support. The shelves are flimsy too and hold little weight.

I haven't had issues like other reviewers with the shelves, but I also purchased this over a year ago. Hopefully the issue can be fixed because I love this bookcase and want to get another!
Embarrassing for IKEAAnonymous reviewerThe shelves are too narrow, leaving a 1/4"-1/2" gap against the side panel. This not only looks terrible, but it causes the shelves to "miss" the support pegs. This significantly reduces the stability of shelf.
Yes many people have written about this, but I stupidly didn't read the reviews.
I'm not going to return this thing, because it is heavy, already assembled, and a major pain in the neck to do so. I will find longer support pegs at a hardware store and live with the poor appearance.
IKEA, there are numerous reviews that describe this problem. Yet, you still continue to ship this flawed product knowingly. Not good!

Fell apart in a monthAnonymous reviewerThe shelves and brackets literally broke apart and fell off. Normal amount of books on the shelf, no one climbed on it. It just disintegrated. The brackets and holes seem too small to hold up the shelves.
