Broke in less than a yearMorganI thought maybe I did something wrong putting these together but I see I’m not the only one having this issue. Two out of four of these chairs have broke within about 8 months of purchasing. We aren’t rough with them and the first one to break was the one my young 7-year-old daughter uses so it isn’t a weight issue. The pieces under the seats that the legs go into just crack completely in half. This is super disappointing since IKEA isn’t even THAT affordable anymore. These chairs shouldn’t be falling apart in less than a year. 1
2 chairs broken in under 6 monthsKaylaAnother user said 3 of their chairs broke in under a year.... well I have already had two break in less than 6 months. All my other Ikea purchases have been great.... but these chairs are the bane of my existence when it comes to furniture. If I had known they were garbage I would have never bought 6 of them to go with the table that I got from here.
Steer clear of these.1
All are wobbly. Very disappointing KarahThese look great and feel great in the store, but they seem very cheap at home. All six we bought are wobbly and it’s a giant hassle to take them back to the store. Stay away from these cheap things. 2
3 chairs broken in under a yearBrennaThese chairs are cute, but extremely fragile. We hadn’t had them a week before the cross support bars on the bottom had splintered. It isn’t like we were putting weight on those either. Just the strain of sliding up to the table (with felt sliders on tile) was enough to break them. We contacted IKEA but chairs aren’t covered under a warranty. That’s fair, but just be aware of that if you want to take a chance on these. Today, around a year after we purchased these one of them shattered into 3 pieces when my husband sat down. Neither of us are obese or anything, so this was just from normal daily use. We’ve had other IKEA chairs last almost a decade, but these are a dud. 2
Wobbly and so smallHaleyWe bought four of these chairs. After assembling the first one, we were disappointed to find that it was very wobbly. We built another and it was still very wobbly, and yes, they were both assembled correctly. They’re incredibly small in the seat area as well and now we will be returning. 2
Solid chair GwynneEasy to put together, solid chair. One star off because the bottom of the chair looks kinda rough. Great for the price. I’m using it on a covered porch. 4
Nice Comfortable ChairMaryI like its weight too. Fairly easy to assemble - I didn’t have any problems with stripped screws but seems it would be easy to do. So be careful to not tighten too much. 5
Cute chairs, but breakableLauraWe purchased seven chairs because of the appearance and scale a few weeks ago. Two have broke with normal use.2
Fell apart after a monthKevinI am 160 lbs and sat down on one of these chairs that we put together barely a month ago and it buckled underneath me. The support beam just cracked in half. Very disappointing as basically my entire house is ikea furniture so we are very familiar with how to construct the furniture safely and have been very happy with quality up until this point :(1
Cute and comfortable!AlanaThe chair fits perfectly with my round dining table. It was easy to assemble and feels sturdy.5
Just Throw Your Money In The TrashJoannaThese chairs are absolute garbage. We have 6 and haven’t even had them a year and 3 are broken, all in the same spot. The first one broke after 3 months, and one by one the others are all failing. There is a serious design flaw on them all. The spot where brace for the legs meets the center support is drilled way too thin and snaps. I contacted IKEA online, who wouldn’t/couldn’t send replacement parts, but assured me someone from the store would call me within 3 days with a solution. Shockingly no one has ever called. The chairs were overpriced trash and IKEA doesn’t stand behind its products. 1
Great dining chair. WonhyoIt is good. 5
Break EasilyKathrynWe purchased a set of four chairs about a month ago and have now had two break with people sitting in them. The support for the legs gave out both times (with people under the 270lb weight limit). The affected legs came right off and the chairs broke into multiple pieces. Loved the style, disappointed in the quality. 1
Don't Waste Your MoneyStephaniePurchased 6 of these chairs for our new dining room table. After visiting the store they seemed like the best chair they have to offer and appeared solid. After trying to assemble it became clear these are not a quality product and made of the cheapest "wood" you can find. The cross braces are too long causing the leg bases to not sit flush against the main base. This problem would normally not be a big deal, but the wood used in this chair is complete garbage and the screws pull out of the wood extremely easily. So after trying to assemble 6 chairs, 3 stripped out and after using the remaining chairs for less than a week one developed a hole in the top of the base where you sit. It appears it was hollow and a penny sized area just collapsed inward. I have never seen real wood do this. What are these made of? 1
Looks great!AbigailThese chairs arrived on time and were a snap to assemble.5
ARRIVED DAMAGED - UNUSABLEKarenThe chair appears to be reasonably good, although I can't give a good review because the top of the chair is either has a rough crack across the top of the curved portion -- or it was badly manufactured. Either way -- it is unusable.1
so far so goodPatriciaso far so good just put it together5
GreatBaileyHollow but great5
Farmhouse Style BrendaOverall I’m happy with my purchase, simple and fits perfectly with my dining table which I also purchased from Ikea 5
Skogsta chairSandraThe color and design are good. However some of the wood feels rough. Also the screws are totally exposed. It would be much more attractive to have black plastic caps to cover the screws3
