Love the product.DIANEEase of assembly, fabulous finish, endless accessories. My only complaint - and it's a serious one - is that when signing up, the forms do not allow for information to be entered other than the US. It makes it very difficult for us who live outside the country to communicate and to give accurate information.5

Our extra pantry...EARLTwo 30" x 24"x 15" units fit nicely in a spare closet with a 25" sliding closet door. The 60" height is ideal. 12 boxes 10"x13"x3.5" are labeled for the cans: "fruit, soup, meat, etc. 6 shelves each with 6" of open space display the sorted cans and leaves 2 shelves for other pantry items. 3 sets of the 24" long IKEA shelves are needed.5

Banged upRonIt came unusable and there is no guidance as to when it will be available. This cabinet was delivered, a single item and it came so damaged I couldn't use it. It may have fallen from the truck while traveling on the interstate.1

Love love loveVanAdded IKEA cabinets next to Lowes cabinets. Totally blended in, no difference, except in ikea affordability and availability (lowes had supply chain issues and ikea delivers at home for $99). What not to love?5
Sektion used in 2 separate projectsAngieWe have used Sektion for two projects now. The first was our kitchen, which was a total remodel and new layout. We are still happy with our results 5 years later! Our last project was a small laundry room and garage entry. We are are also pleased with how this turned out. We did have more of a problem with items being in stock, shipping and damaged items. I think this has more to do with current times than IKEA, but I do think that IKEA is a problem5

very disappointedThomasproduct availability is my main reason for giving one star. decided to purchase these cabinets due to the flexibility and east to adapt to what my needs would be. i didnt realize that the limited availability would be an issue. i live in mid florida on the east coast. my main store is sunrise, florida about 2 hours away from me. i did purchase quite a few products from this store but quicky found out that product was extremely limited. i know we are in a pandemic and i fully understand that but i wish that someone had told me that product was limited. i would have gone somewhere else to purchase kitchen cabinets. ive driven from my home in port st lucie, fl to sunrise, fl, miami, fl, jacksonville, fl and orlando, fl to get pieces and parts for my kitchen and its not a big kitchen at all. im missing one cabinet, which i had, but returned after calling missing parts service and being told that no parts were available, specifically the hardware. this is the only cabinet that i am missing.. very frustrating trying to complete this project but not being able to due to the last cabinet not being available i would not recommend simply because the availability is extremely limited. the cabinets once installed are very nice. im pleased with the product just the availability or lack of to complete the project and having to drive to several stores to get parts.1
Love our cupboards. Took usKariLove our cupboards. Took us from November 21 til march 22 to finish our kitchen, but glad we got them as we were able to get them, so as not to wait till they were all in.5
Nice, economical choice but a bit complex to assembleNicoleNice, economical choice but a bit complex to assemble. Also, it would be great if IKEA sold the shelves separately in case you want more than 2.3

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Our ambition is to help as many as possible to have a kitchen they'd love to be in. We started sketching. “When we created SEKTION, it was our biggest ever kitchen change, so it's fair to say we were very keen to get it right,” says technician Klas-Ola Nilsson.

Research from around the world

So, what would people’s dream kitchen be like? We surveyed thousands of people, visited hundreds of homes and worked with food industry professionals. “We found if there's one thing in common with kitchens around the world it's that they're different.” Klas-Ola says. “For as many people who dream of an open space kitchen, there are people with a small space, or have to fit a pre-existing room.”

From research to result

One element became blindingly important. “We realized we needed a kitchen system that could adapt to different sized spaces in a way that hadn't been done before,” Klas-Ola says. “So, we developed cabinets that could fit almost anywhere.” Different sizes can be mixed to best fit the room and they'll still fit together – without odd ends. The clever inside can be personalized to support your kitchen needs and activities, too.

Ready for the future

An adaptable kitchen fits better with how you like to cook, both now and in the future. Whether you start craving a more professional kitchen, or just want to start using it for more activities, we would love SEKTION to help out. “There's nothing to say that SEKTION is set and fixed now,” Klas-Ola says. “It's something that's evolving and that we're developing as our ideas on what a kitchen should do changes into the future.”

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
