MAXIMERA drawer is a smooth-running, full-extension drawer with built-in dampers so that it closes slowly, softly, and quietly.
The door damper prevents your cabinet door from slamming by catching the moving door so that it closes slowly, gently and silently.

HappyDonnaThe cabinet looks great once assembled. It does take quite a bit of time and you should definitely refer to the amended instructions as called out on prior reviews as the instructions from IKEA for the drawer will cause you issues. Also don't forget your hardware like we did as it's impossible to open/function without them!
Beautiful pieceMinBeautiful functional piece. However the door arrived damaged with chips and cracks on the paint around the corner. IKEA customer service was great with sending replacements but I didn’t get a good piece until the 4th replacement. IKEA needs to improve shipping packaging.
Shame on IkeaPeterI expected there would be some continuity/integrity to the assembly instructions, but in this case it's 1 of these pieces and a couple of those. I was proud of my decades of experience interpreting what the stick-guy intended, and use some ingenuity, but this was bad and I'd never would have made it except for Molly's comments about page 7, and Alysia and Kody on YouTube about how to adjust and disassemble drawers. The product is fine once it's done, it fit my 18.25" x 80" hole in the wall, but prepare yourself for a long day!!
Missing partsCharlotteThe door Havstorp came with no spare parts to fix the door to the cabinets. We just finished building and we have no solution to attach the door.
Took me longer than 5 Billy bookcases… seriouslyKelliI’ve assembled a lot of furniture, including multiple IKEA pieces, and I can confidently say this is not user error, it’s the instructions.
This feels less like a true kit and more like a mix of parts used for a custom IKEA kitchen. That’s fine, but if it’s sold as one unit, it should come with one clear set of instructions. Instead, there are multiple separate booklets (cabinet, drawers, door) that aren’t clearly connected, and the door parts are in a different box.
There are no actual instructions for how or where to install the drawers, you have to piece it together yourself. The hardware isn’t clearly labeled to parts, and one of the door instructions appears to be wrong. The guide also shows legs, but none are included.
After 6+ hours, the door still hits the bottom drawers.
The cabinet itself feels sturdy, but the instructions make this far more difficult than it should be.
Cannot adjust door hingeaOdeccaI have done everything possible but I cannot stop the door from hitting the top drawer front. I have repositioned the top drawer rails six times but the issue is not the drawer front, it’s the door. It’s impossible to adjust the hinges so that the door is pulled up and away from the top drawer front. I am very frustrated and cannot figure out a solution. The hinges are not adjustable beyond moving the door to or away from the cabinet frame. No way to adjust the door up or down. The drawer will not close if the door is not open. I hate the grinding sound as the door front and door rub against each other.
Directions below, because they are wrongMollyThe swinging door will hit the bottom drawers unless you do it different than the directions. Open the Maximera Drawer High White instructions and go to page 7. The part 126888 says it needs to be screwed into the bottom holes in the top two openings. That is wrong. Screw it into the bottom holes with the bottom two hole openings. This little difference in position will make the difference in the end. The instructions also don’t give you map for this product for where to install the rails. Do the bottom two drawers first and put the door on. Then decide where to place the internal drawers and shelves. Otherwise you could place it where your hinges need to go. Last thing, I screwed my hinge into the second hole from the top and it was perfect.
Cabinet looks great but it took years off my life. The above information should save you hours.

Good Product. Directions are incorrect.NadiaFirst, each part has it's own instructions. You have to move back and forth between them. I found them relatively easy, BUT, the instructions for the bottom high drawer are WRONG. When attaching the drawer face for the bottom high drawer, do not put the screws in the top two holes of the hardware. Use the bottom two holes. Look for a youtube video 'Maximera drawer assembly' by a nice grandpa named 'FIX IT Yourself.'
