Perfect base corner cabinetMicheleLots of space and easy access thanks to a Swing Blind Corner Cabinet Pull Out for 36 in (2 shelve) instead of the proposed 2 shelve carousel.5
Nice corner cabinetAnonymous reviewerEasy to put it together. Live it5
Nice but fragileAnonymous reviewerA nice option for housing a lazy susan shelving system. The pole holding up the shelving is an integral part of the stability of this cabinet. With the addition of a motion sensing light on the ceiling of this unit, seeing what is found on the rotating shelves is better.4
Works but a bit clunky to installJohnInstalled two of these - one on each end of the kitchen. The unit has the usual IKEA quality - everything fits well and tight. The bar that stretches across the larger of the two cabinets sags a bit with the weight of the additional segment for the add-in cabinet so be aware it could throw your level off. the support "foot" that goes into the corner is impossible to adjust without using something like a strap wrench and I think it's really needed to get some of the weight off the wall cleat rails. The other problem is the weight of the unit - you're supposed to add the legs and then flip to an upright position - works well if you have two people - I ended up supporting it on the back side as I turned it over but this still broke off one of the legs on the front. Very difficult to move once upright as the weight causes the legs to roll under even with two people. Overall the design is one of the best approaches to the problem of a corner base cabinet.3
Basement kitchenetteLauraFirst of all, let me say that choosing IKEA kitchen cabinets and countertops was the perfect choice for a basement kitchenette! Loved the entire process with IKEA! That being said, we installed a corner sink which then led to the corner cabinet with a “ piano hinge”. The esthetic is great…my only qualm is that in closing that door, the top right edge drags downward and the resulting edge at the top tilts outward, not closing as I hoped it would. Perhaps their is a fix…not sure.3
Weak cabinet - we broke 1 and had 1 crack.IanWe had problems with this specific design of cabinet. It does not seem strong enough to supprort itself. After we had 1 break and the other crack. we reinforced with wood the way it should be.2
I am so happy withDawnI am so happy with my new kitchen cabinets!5
Kitchen corner cabinetBadereddeenLike the design of it and ease of installation. It will support stone countertops with supplied kits. It will attach to the rail from both sides but not at the corner. The only drawback was being available for purchase. It took us 4 months to find it available.4
My new kitchen cabinets areEllenMy new kitchen cabinets are beautiful and more than I expected!! I can’t wait to get the rest of my kitchen done!!5
Basic boxesThedaThe standard sizes within the IKEA family of products makes it easy to mix up configurations.5
Great value!ReginaAssembly was no more of a hassle than any of the other cabinets. I chose not to buy the lazy Susan and will get a shelf made. I took off a star because I wish IKEA wouldoffer a shelf option. For just the base cabinet, the price can’t be beat.4
Love my KitchenAnonymousI am so ecstatic over my kitchen. My contractor created shelves instead of the carousel for the corner base cabinet which was used at the end of a long counter. I had a lot of small appliances and the carousel wouldn't hold all of them. The door opens to reveal all of the appliances which makes it easy to bring out the one I want without rearranging others to get to what I want. I love the versatility of the Ikea cabinets compared to other brands and, if they didn't have what I wanted, it was easy to modify to what I needed.5

A kitchen that took us around the world

Whatever your dream kitchen is, it’s probably different from many other people’s dreams. This we learned when researching kitchen desires around the globe. Our conclusion for the SEKTION kitchen system: it should make it possible to design the best kitchen for you – whatever your preferences and living situation.

Our ambition is to help as many as possible to have a kitchen they'd love to be in. We started sketching. “When we created SEKTION, it was our biggest ever kitchen change, so it's fair to say we were very keen to get it right,” says technician Klas-Ola Nilsson.

Research from around the world

So, what would people’s dream kitchen be like? We surveyed thousands of people, visited hundreds of homes and worked with food industry professionals. “We found if there's one thing in common with kitchens around the world it's that they're different.” Klas-Ola says. “For as many people who dream of an open space kitchen, there are people with a small space, or have to fit a pre-existing room.”

From research to result

One element became blindingly important. “We realized we needed a kitchen system that could adapt to different sized spaces in a way that hadn't been done before,” Klas-Ola says. “So, we developed cabinets that could fit almost anywhere.” Different sizes can be mixed to best fit the room and they'll still fit together – without odd ends. The clever inside can be personalized to support your kitchen needs and activities, too.

Ready for the future

An adaptable kitchen fits better with how you like to cook, both now and in the future. Whether you start craving a more professional kitchen, or just want to start using it for more activities, we would love SEKTION to help out. “There's nothing to say that SEKTION is set and fixed now,” Klas-Ola says. “It's something that's evolving and that we're developing as our ideas on what a kitchen should do changes into the future.”

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
