Great tableCandiceEasy set up5
Perfect little tableDianeI have a small kitchen, so this works perfectly. I feel like it is sturdy enough to last a long time as long as my grandkids do not start climbing all over it haha. I do wish it had sturdier legs, but this works for the price point.5
Sturdy and functional tableDouglasI purchased this table as a workbench and holder for some supplies and it has met my needs. Assembly was straightforward (although I found my set of allen keys fitting in my electric drill made life a lot easier) and relatively easy. I would only make one change--rather than discouraging discarding the wrench and allen key included with the table I would encourage IKEA to have a dropbox in their store for us to return these items to them for their reuse. I have enough wrenches and allen keys already at home...5
Better desk than my actual deskAimeeI gave away my computer desk because the Sandsberg gives me more surface space and much more leg room underneath (I'm tall). It holds one 24" monitor and another 27" monitor rotated vertically. It's portable and sturdy. We bought two and they've been great the past few years. Super versatile, easy to move, lots of different uses. Excellent for small apartments or dorms.5

Just what I wantedMi RimGood size, easy assemble5
Sandsberg TableAndreaThe table is a good price for the quality, and it seems to be sturdy. The only issue we had was using the Allen Wrench, which was provided, to put the table together. It would have been easier and taken less time to put together if the right tool was provided.4
Fits space perfectly MatthewEasy to assemble, and works with our existing IKEA chairs. 5

Accessories for SANDSBERG

SANDSBERG Table, black, 43 1/4x26 3/8 "

SANDSBERG sits securely in everyday life

Dining tables and chairs have perhaps some of the toughest jobs in the home. Day after day, they sit securely when you throw yourself down for a quick breakfast, when the dinner drags on for several hours or the dining area transforms into a study area. That’s why we put SANDSBERG table and chairs through really tough tests – just like all our products.

No matter what it says on the price tag, you can trust that our tables and chairs, and all the products you find at IKEA, meet strict international safety and quality demands. “We also continue to test on a regular basis as long as a product is available in our range,” says Magnus Wernersson, one of our product developers, who took part in the work with SANDSBERG.

Simulating strains

IKEA uses certified test labs, which means that all tests are done according to international standards. “All our tables undergo both static and fatigue tests to check strength and durability over time. For example, in one of the tests, you let the table fall from a height of a few inches to simulate dropping it when refurnishing or moving.”

Quality for different bodies

There’s always a focus on quality and safety already from the start in the product development. “We know from experience already when we do our sketches what dimensions chair legs require. We can also simulate different strains the chair is exposed to in different computer programs,” says Magnus and tells that even when we think we sit entirely still on a chair, we actually move and change the load. “In the development work, we need to take into account the fact that people sit differently and have different bodies. The relatively thin back on the SANDSBERG chair is developed to give flexibility and comfortable support to all backs – and cope with everyday life in your home.”

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

“With the SANDSBERG series, we worked, as always, to create good, functional design with small means. Light, comfortable pieces of furniture that are easy to move around. We used wood and metal, but mixing materials and optimizing material use always mean additional challenges to pass tough test requirements and achieve the best possible price. That’s why we’re extra proud to end our 41-year career at IKEA with this series and curious about how it will be received."
