Base uses a nylon lock nut, so you just have to tighten it through the plastic end!IvanAfter reading reviews and hearing multiple people complain of the wobbly base and the screw not tightening all the way I was very concerned but since this was the vision I had in mind I went to grab it anyway. After returning home I set it up and I had used my hands to tighten the screw as much as I could and I did notice it was wobbly. The thing is though the nut had a plastic end, meaning it is a Nylon Lock Nut. What this essentially does is it creates friction against the bolt threads to prevent loosing from vibration. Since this is the only thing holding the whole floor lamp together, this is good to have. Now what this further implies is that the user has to have adequate tools to really tighten, and I mean really really tighten it with a lot of force! You’re basically creating new threads in the plastic portion that mold to the bolt threads of the lamp base. Luckily I had a faucet swap out wrench, so this gave me 10x more leverage!
Very inconvenientJamesNo bulb included in package. Logic says that a bulb is an integral part of a reading lamp!! No where on the package is there an indication that the bulb is not included. Now I have to drive 30 miles back to the store to purchase a bulb, which is very disappointing and very inconvenient.
Bottom bolt doesn’t screw in even with wrenchSaskiaAs other reviews state, the bottom bolt is incredibly hard to screw in- basically impossible. I looked at the bolt and there was some sort of blue plastic in mine, perhaps a defect? Did anyone else notice the same thing? Really frustrating and I feel like there was so many better functional choices to make this easier to assemble.
Wobbly base, does not tightenJulieSad I have to return this, unless Ikea can tighten the bottom scree to fix the wobbly, it is a sad purchase.
DO NOT BUYSarahThe bottom bolt cannot be screwed in all the way and makes the lamp not stand up. Thought it was a fluke and I just happened to get a bad one. Exchanged it for a new one same issue. IKEA pull this item off the shelf!!!!! I am a pro at building ikea furniture and just built two dressers no problem. This item is flawed and cannot be assembled!
Impossible to put together.ChuckI should have read the instructions online BEFORE buying this. I found it impossible to tighten the bottom screw with my wrench. Returning.
Light bulb not includedKarlacame home happy to open the box and ready to use the lamp and no light bulb... no note on the outside of box suggesting getting the light bulb bc is not included. :)

Love these little lamps!LindaThese lamps turned out to be perfect to place around the living room for reading or task lighting next to chairs and beside or behind sofas. The top of the lamp conveniently swivels, while the arm bends to adjust the angle. I only buy lamps that don't use a cord switch, so these work beautifully. They provide a good amount of light, and I like the light temperature. And even my 91 year old Mom loves them. I have three in use and bought two more. Highly recommended and a great price.

Nice lampRebeccaI was looking for a small floor reading lamp for next to a chair and this fit the bill. It is short, but taller than the chair so it’s a perfect fit. I also like that it’s sleek-looking. Be careful when choosing the bulb. There are several choices at a wide range of prices. It took a minute to find the basic bulb and happily, it was on sale.

Disappointed PatriciaWhen I put the lamp together, it would not work. Hard to tell if it was the lamp or the bulb, which I also purchased from IKEA.I wanted to return it, but can't get to a store, & you're returns " by mail " are ridiculously complicated & time consuming - so I gave up. I will never shop here again & was very disappointed. A waste of my money.
Too short, but we’re keeping itJfWe knew this was too short when we bought it but it was exactly what I was looking for — small, plain, unobtrusive reading lamp. Nothing else we’d seen on the market came close. Since we put it behind a Queen Anne chair in a corner, it works perfectly because it stands on a box of books!
