Worth the MoneyPhyllisI purchased these to put small candles on to protect the surface of counters/tables. Works like a charm and takes up minimal space. I didn't realize until I saw the email, but these can also be used as lids for partially burned candles. Clever Ikea!5
Genius!CarolI keep buying more of these. I use IKEA cork coasters for candles but these work better in many cases and less obtrusive. Don’t use them as much for a lid but you know what? Take a cheap glass or empty candle holder and make a little storage jar for cheap. Sits loosely on top but that’s good for me. Graduated and fits different sizes!5

Material

What is cork?

Cork comes from cork oak bark which is carefully cut from the tree’s trunk. It then takes about nine years until the tree forms new bark that can be harvested. Since a cork oak can live to be aged 150-200, each one produces a lot of cork during its lifetime. Cork has several good qualities as a material: it’s lightweight, flexible, waterproof and naturally resists fire. We use it in furniture and accessories.
