Different than prior version, still goodLisaI have IKEA's earlier iteration of packing cubes where the zipper for these size cubes does extend to three sides. Bought these to try for a recent trip, and liked them just as well. The fabric is slightly stiffer than the prior version (which is silkier), making them a bit easier to put clothes into. I was somewhat surprised that the zipper only opening on two sides didn't bother me. It gave the bag a bit more structure, which I found helpful. I suspect IKEA put the zipper on only two sides to shave the manufacturing costs a bit and try to keep the end price down. In that they've succeeded, as these are really a great value.
Great but…PhoebePLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make these with a double zipper! With only one zipper opening, it’s too easy for things to fall out because you have ti open the bag almost completely. These would be perfect with two zipper pulls - and would love if they came in fun prints!
Good with one notable flawMattThese packing cubes would be 100% awesome if the zippers ran across three sides so that you could unzip the cube, pull the top completely back and have unfettered accesss to the content. However, the zipper only runs along two of the four sides so the top doesn't really come back all the way interfering mildly with both packing and access to content. That said, the material is very light and packable and the price is right--you could by 3-4 whole sets of these for the price of one Eagle Creek packing cube--so they are a great alternative to the bougie, overpriced name brands. But why Ikea, why did you simply use a longer zipper so that the top could be completed moved out of the way.

Today, we spend more and more time outside the home. “If you’re constantly on the go, you need easy, organized solutions to be able to bring the things you need with you”, says Holly Harraway, who’s been involved in the development. “We talked to people with different lifestyles, interests and needs. What we found out made it clear that the bags had to be developed from an activity-based perspective.” Designed inside out “We used our knowledge of how to organize the home, to build solutions for the bags that make them functional and practical”, she says. It resulted in bags in different styles and sizes, for different needs and activities. With keyholders and compartments for laptops. But also, zip-up and hidden pockets for valuables – on the outside for quick access, on the inside for extra safety. “You want to be able to access your belongings quickly and safely no matter how or where you’re travelling.”

When we create products from recycled polyester, PET bottles, and other sources, they get a new life in products like textiles, storage boxes, kitchen fronts, and even lamps.
