Not available in AtlantaHenriettaWe purchased the 58" TV stand/console, which we like very much. Unfortunately it suffered a substantial dent upon assembly -- in the front, of course. I went to our local IKEA on June 28, 2024 to learn it was out of stock. I placed a Waiting List Order for the Poppare gray paint. Is it possible for me to acquire this paint?
Thank you.
Matching Paint!JanieLife happens and furniture gets dinged, so it’s so nice to be able to do touch up painting on furniture, as well as create accompanying pieces to go with our IKEA pieces (IKEA hacks for the win!!)
Exceptional paint for bare woodBarbaraThis is an waterborne alkyd paint (like the BM Advance paint). It's exceptional on bare wood. I painted an IKEA pine bench white with this stuff, amazed at its toughness and durability. Pros: 1) Once dry, it isn't tacky like latex paint; 2) No primer required on bare wood; 3) TOUGH finish; 4) Self-leveling [no visible brush strokes]; 5) Smooth, matte finish after 2 coats. It behaves a bit like a solid stain. So, if you intend to use it on previously painted surfaces, it will not stick unless you prime and sand fist (I tried and failed).
Didn't matchKimBought this to touch up a grey dresser but it was way lighter than the dresser which I didn't realize (thinking it might be lighter and dry darker while touching it up) unfortunately I had to paint the whole thing to fix that and now that dresser doesn't match the others in the room - so I will have to eventually paint them. 😭

Gray paintEgberthGood color. Easy to apply
Pricey but effectiveStevenI felt this paint was a little pricey at $15 for such a small can; however, it only required one coat and was extremely easy to clean up.
Okay for Touchup--Terrible for Larger ProjectsChristinaI was told to buy this after purchasing an Ikea coffee table that came with a chip. Not happy to be made to buy paint to fix a chip but it was easier than de-assembling the large coffee table and lugging it back to Ikea. Worked well for a small touch-up. Decided to paint a small bathroom cabinet with it and it destroyed it. I am an experienced painter who prepped the cabinet, taped, and used an expensive mini roller--this paint is like glue--it sticks but then also drips. It does not coat neatly or cooperatively. The bathroom cabinet is destroyed and we have to replace it--or we could get a power sander and sand off this horrible finish. The smell of this paint is horrible as other reviewers noted. Wish I had just painted the chip and tossed it.
Correct colorAnonymous reviewerIf you are looking for the correct color for your cabinets… this is it! I gave it 4 stars though because it’s a bit pricey for that tiny can. It was worth not trying to match the color though and getting it wrong
Touch upAaronBought this paint to touch up a scratch on an existing IKEA piece. Thought the grey would be a close match but unfortunately not. Maybe a lovely colour if you use it on plain furniture but don’t use it to colour match.

Nice application even better than I thought!TonyGood value paint and can't wait to use it in other colors.
Wow!NicoleRepainted a old beat up desk with the black. It now looks like a high end desk with a perfect sheen to the finish. So very impressed!
Great that it is a water-based paint, but...AdrianGreat that it is a water-based paint, but I was hoping for more of a stain, than a paint. You can try to apply this as thin as possible, but the viscosity of this paint makes it very difficult. I did paint all my shelves with this paint and it turned out nice, with an eggshell finish. Be prepared to purchase enough cans, depending on your size project. Sometimes certain colors can be hard to find.
PoppareKatharinaAwesome paint. Perfect of course to refresh Ikea furniture. However one complaint I do have: it took me about 4 Ikea trips until i finally found white poppare paint to buy. It either was not in stock (over many months) or only "pretended" to be in stock...
POPPARE - Black PaintRobertI've used this to touch up some minor nicks on my IKEA cabinets and to paint a custom cabinet installed next to my black IKEA cabinets. The paint matches the IKEA cabinets exactly, so it really helps tie the custom cabinet together. I also used it on some custom floating shelves I built for our kitchen (next to IKEA black cabinets).
My only complaint, the solids in this paint tend to settle out of suspension and into a thick mass during shipping and/or storage at IKEA. This has been the case with all three cans I've purchased. I stirred the first can by hand and it took a long time (10 mins?) to sufficiently mix the paint and my hand was hurting by the time I was done. My recommendation, search for "mini paint stirrers" or "epoxy stirrers" on Amazon. They're basically a miniature version of a standard paint stirrer that can be attached to a handheld drill. I used them on high speed for about 2-3 minutes and it mixed the paint really well without hand cramps.
Perfect stain and sealer!ArleneI bought this first to use on new outside dining table, but since then have used it on all my older wooden outdoor furniture. Now they look brand new again and the water beads up on top. Great sealer.
Easy to use and not sticky like paintBarbaraOK. So I read to other reviews first. I can only speak for the WHITE stain. I LOVE this product. The stain needs to be stirred well. I applied two coats, 24 hours apart. Two coats covered the wood nicely, still showing the grain. It is a matte finish. Most importantly, unlike paint, once dry it is NOT sticky.
Be aware!! Paint lays thick on wood! Very matte finishAnonymous reviewerThis paint needs a lot of shaking before using. I made the mistake of not shaking the can enough before opening and I painted a few IVAR shelves pretty fast; they came out with an oily stain, then at the bottom third of the can, there comes some super thick paint in light grey! I was petrified!! Thankfully I bought a second can of this paint, and I had to re-paint my original shelves, now they all have very thick layers of grey paint. It is a paint, not a stain! It covers the wood grain completely!! It definitely did not come out the way I was intending but now my "project" bookcase will have to look more matte grey than stained wood grey.
Does not match the hemmedGeorgiaDoes not match the hemmed grey color. It’s a pure grey

What is steel?
Steel has unique characteristics when it is stretched and shaped since it remains strong. It provides strength to everything from skyscrapers and cars to bed frames and outdoor furniture. The steel industry is moving in the direction of more energy-efficient production and stronger steel qualities. It doesn’t lose any of its properties when recycled and today steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world.
