Comfortable, bounces slightly without smashing toesCherylVery nice alternative to traditional rocking chairs, gives a slight bounce but flat frame doesn't roll and smash toes. Neck cushion is a nice height for a 5'5" person, and it's very comfortable. I like the slightly reclined position, since I get vertigo from a full recliner. I had some minor frustration with assembly, but only because I didn't read the instructions carefully and was trying to screw the wide-thread screws into the narrow-thread holes. Everything fit together perfectly once I used the correct screws. I live in a multi-pet household, so furniture with easily replaceable upholstery is a must. I got the Vissle deep green, which is cheerful and brightens up the room. I only got it because the frame was on closeout sale, but would definitely be willing to pay full price now that I've tried it out.

Do Not Buy!BarThis cushion is EXTREMELY uncomfortable for an average height woman. It is a torture to sit on. The head cushion sticks out to much! I have no idea what the designer was thinking. I had an older style cushion that was very comfortable.
Most Comfortable Chair EverMatthewThis chair is perfect. You can read a book, watch a television show, or just fall asleep. It feels like you're sitting on a cloud, and takes about 30 minutes to build. I personally went with the Gunnared Dark Gray, and it's soft, and makes you feel like you're retired (even if you're not). 10/10.
Looks new forever!KimberleyPurchased in '06-'07 with matching footstool for family "recliner" where various people read, eat, drink, crochet, fall asleep, etc. Twenty years ago. Has taken an assortment of beatings. If I had a quarter for every time food or drink was spilled, for how many times I've used with heating pad for my back or the stool for my knees, for every time young fam members bounce it way too hard ... Wood has hardly a nick or scratch, and when I wipe it down with wood cleaner, it shines like new. Yesterday, for the first time - in 20 years - removed upholstery cover to wash (hot & then line dry, as directed): Takes some work to get the internal foam cushions out, & especially back on; but so worth it: The upholstery is also like new. So I'm looking at this brand new 20yo chair next to our other furnishings ... it's practically heirloom quality. My son & DIL just bought first house. I think I'll gift them one.

Poor qualityAnonymousThe hole on one side of the the chair back where you bolt in the chair arm was drilled almost a fuli inch off from where it should have been positioned. Managed to bolt it together, but can't believe how shoddy Ikea furniture now is! Had similar problem with a Hemnes tv stand - holes were just drilled in the wrong places, or not drilled out completely. Unacceptable, Ikea!

Pieces don’t fit!ArleyYears ago I put together a POANG chair and it was very easy. This new one is frustrating because some of the holes don’t match and I can’t finish putting it together. Now what?
Warning for ParentsHannahI am currently sitting in this chair with my baby, about to have an absolute crash out. For the love of god, DO NOT get this chair for your nursery. The rocking base barely rocks, my calves are getting so strong, but not because I want them to! The worst thing about this chair is that it is so lightweight, it constantly scoots as you’re rocking in it. You’re trying to get your baby to sleep and just praying that they fall asleep before the chair you pulled several feet away from the wall is hitting the wall because it migrated across the room with each rock.
The chair is comfortable and looks nice with all of the other ikea furniture in my nursery, so I’ll give it that. But I am truly about to lose my mind, and wish I hadn’t spent my rocking chair budget on this pick.
Nice ChairStephenI like this chair vs a rocker. Total cost is really not reasonable unless you get a discount like we did. Easy to assemble. Cushion is ok but could be thicker. The down side the thicker cushion is overpriced and sold separately.

chairs are great but...Christhese chairs are great but the covers are not. washing them is nice, but putting the foam back in is like herding cats. for whatever reason there's "sticky" fabric lining the inside and it makes it nigh impossible to arrange the foam correctly. mine are somewhat older so maybe the newer ones don't have it.

Poang with Skiftebo CushionAndrewI tried out a bunch of chairs in the showroom and picked the Poang in birch with the Skiftebo cushion (in dark grey). The Gunnred, Hillared, and Glose cushions felt good too. The yellow Knisa felt pretty good, but with the black and beige ones I could feel the frame poking my lower back. The low-back Poang didn't feel as good to me. Another chair called the Ekenaset was over my budget ($300) but also very comfortable.
Picking up from the warehouse and completing the purchase were super easy. The two packages were pretty light to carry and not bulky. Assembly was straightforward. The frame seems to be solid plywood without any paperboard stuff. I think it could be disassembled and reassembled without being destroyed. The chair is very light and easy to move around, sturdy to sit in, comfortable, and has a nice bounce to it. I notice a bit of graininess on the armrests that some reviewers have mentioned. It doesn't
bother me but could be sanded down.
