Space saving custom designArunThe IKEA PAX Wall-mounted storage frame with rail in white (39 3/8x22 7/8x92 7/8 ") is a great foundation for creating a customized closet system, especially if you prefer a clean, modern look and want to maximize floor space.
Being wall-mounted, this frame keeps the floor clear, making your walk-in closet feel more spacious and easier to clean. This is particularly beneficial in smaller closets. The PAX system is highly modular. This frame allows you to personalize the interior with a wide range of IKEA KOMPLEMENT accessories like shelves, drawers, clothes rails, and baskets to perfectly suit your storage needs.
Back Panel Can Be Flimsy: Like many IKEA cabinets, the back panel is typically thin and made of fiberboard. While it helps with stability, it's not the most robust part of the unit. Handle it with care during assembly. 5
Pax 2.0 is DisappointingJacksonI wish I had done more research into the Pax 2.0 redesign. It's horrible. I have assembled an entire Pax closet before and it's very sturdy. This is cheap, and having the design require wall mounting first is just the worst. Ikea has taken a product that had a fairly simple and uncomplicated assembly to one that nobody asked for. The only goal it seemed to accomplish was to deliver questionable quality to the end user...1
Versatile and ValueJessicaWe used the PAX system to add clothes storage to a guest room. We didn’t want to spend thousands of dollars for this project, so we decided to configure a custom closet with two PAX units. We like that we can choose from a variety of options for inside the closet as well as for the doors. We chose to use additional pieces of wood from a hardware store to trim out the units to give them a more built-in look. Make sure you double check the dimensions of the units and the corresponding interior parts. There are several options in different dimensions, which can get mixed up easily if you’re not careful. Also, please be VERY CAREFUL when moving and transporting the PAX box and pieces. The pieces get damaged easily when bumped, and the boxes do not provide much protection. We accidentally damaged one of our PAX panels, but luckily it was the side that is hidden. Aside from those considerations, I do think it’s worth the price. 5
Just what i wantedAnonymous reviewerThe system is absolutely beautiful I love it. I did it by myself it was very time consuming however the results are worth it.5
Excellent!ElizabethDid a makeover for my outdoor gear storage room with a custom Pax system (designed with the Pax Planner) and could not be more pleased. Easy to design to fit my gear, backpacks, hanging sleeping bags, etc. Had quick delivery to my home with excellent service and was easy to install, though time consuming. Would order again and wish I did it sooner!5
Does what it was designed to doPaulI need two more but they seem to be unavailable in SE Florida for some time. 5
Looks fancy at an affordable price LeahI got this as part of a custom dresser set that I made using their "design your own dresser" feature, the dresser is sturdy pretty and not too hard to put together, it's easier to look up a video online for assembly and I would recommend putting together the bottom before screwing it to the wall or putting the wall bracket on, otherwise it could end up in the wrong spot, I had this one and 2 of the skinnier ones, I put all of them partially together and put them where I wanted them before attaching the wall bracket.5

***You get what you pay for***AliciaAfter searching for a wardrobe that would be affordable and nice, I had no luck! The least expensive ones were too small. IKEA had the style and size and going through their sales expert who helped me design it, made it easy. Although it was out of my budget and I was not counting on paying so much for it, in the end it was worth it. It's a beautiful wardrobe and it was easy to install.5
PAX is great!Anonymous reviewerI just wish there were words along with the pictures when it came to putting the drawers inside the PAX cabinet4
Pax unitHarrisThe unit is great I love it, it houses all of my clothes5

A great addition to PaxJo AnnI am using my Pax wardrobe as a pantry. This divider helped me creat two areas in the lower part of the cabinet. It took a bit of figuring which piece went where, but it's installed! I just had to slow down and look at the illustration VERY carefully.4
Great SystemTinaWe needed to add some closet space to our room and the PAX system worked great. The "frames" were very easy to put together. I love the fact they you can customize it to fit your needs.5
Junk - don't waste your moneyMonicaI've assembled more PAX systems over the last 20 years than I can count, and they've always had strong, sturdy frames and components that lasted a long time. This new version is TOTAL JUNK. All parts are thinner (so the sides on larger units bow out), surfaces scratch and chip easily, the back has a noticeable crease that doesn't straighten out, the connectors and cam locks are plastic crap that breaks (used to be metal), screw heads strip easily, the plastic parts are highly visible, and the entire unit wobbles. I just bought 7 of these for a new closet, along with 8 drawers, and countless shelves (don't put anything heavy on the shelves because they'll sag). In the end, we took them all apart, then glued and screwed the units and drawers together and nailed on the backs to give them some rigidity and prevent the drawers from falling apart. After 20 years as a huge PAX fan, I will never buy another piece of this garbage again.1
Sturdy unit but assembly was difficult TedThe materials were sturdy and the instructions were clear. The unit was the perfect size for a niche in a bedroom. However, when I was mounting the cabinet in that niche it was difficult to install the top shelf. In retrospect it would have been better to assemble the unit flat on the floor and then lift into the niche and mount to the wall.4
Not worth the moneyAnonymous reviewerSave your money!! Not worth a custom wardrobe or shelf. item is very sensitive and broke on me while building. instructions are very confusing. need more than 2 people build, depending on the size
get yourself something better deal1
Quality issuesAnonymous reviewerThe pieces chip very easily, more so than other ikea products I’ve owned. This was especially true of were the particle board join together. Had use wood glue in some places. 2
Closet cabinetHarrisThe only thing was the bottom piece of the cabinet would not fit in the slot5
