Perfect FitCoreyYou have to use this product if you want a seamless appearance when you join to another unit for the L-appearance. Had to look at YouTube to align the cabinets but once I got that down it was easy. Just completed a 10 piece PAX unit...totally transformed my closet into a show piece.5

Simply love this system. TheArgeonSimply love this system. The quality and look is worth every penny. This was my alternative to spending over $5k for a system that looked very similar and I’m glad I made this choice5
Worth the wait.SIDNEYIt is functional and looks great.5
Like the system, but damaged productsRainbows For AllI installed a new PAX wardrobe and really like the system for its customizability. Unfortunately, several of the frames had chipped paint, cracks, and the back of them had tears. Given the size of the frames, I did not damage my back a second time around to go exchange them.4
Challenging to assemble in closetLJGREEN55Assembly of this particular frame was no more challenging to put together than most IKEA furniture. However, I purchased a closet system with 4 different frames which was very challenging to assemble while working inside a closet (about 6x5 ft.) I had an L shaped system and discovered after putting the first two frames up and moving into place, I should have started in the corner and built out from there. If there is a video available online, it would be worth your time to watch prior to assembly. I do love the end result which is being able to make use of the corner space that was wasted with a traditional closet hanging system. I now have shelves and two sets of drawers. I am still in process of organizing things to fit how I'd like. It was worth the investment (there was a sale on frames when I purchased) but, again, I would stress, study the instructions and watch a video if you can prior to assembly.4
It's very prettyHelloTexasBought it during the pax sale... The corner wardrobe with doors with two hanging racks and shelves... It fits nicely in the corner of my room... Gave me the extra storage that I needed to hang and store my clothes...5

Makes the PAX system work for ussidber7Much more difficult to assemble than the typical IKEA item. Instructions are unclear at critical points. Overall, we love it.4
Fits like a charm!RobGWe just bought this for our very large closet, but the space was awkward...but they made this fit and it looks and works very well.5
Easy installationMarkelMy wife and I had no trouble installing the closet organizers. We are enjoying the lack of clutter and mess.5
Too difficult to assembleAtlAshLet me start with the premise that I actually LIKE putting together Ikea furniture. I know you probably think that’s a lie, but I’m a little weird like that. I find it relaxing. I even volunteer to put the furniture together, so I’ve probably put together over 100 pieces of Ikea furniture. This product’s assembly nearly undid me. You’re probably now saying to yourself, “Why was this little add on unit so hard? It looks so innocent and useful, with its 4 happy, wonderful shelves.” 3 words: It’s not symmetrical. It comes with 2 books to assemble it 1 or 2 different ways. And because of that, there are too many ways that one could make one small error and wind up in a situation where one piece is assembled incorrectly. So when I got slightly distracted in the process early on - as life will do when one’s assembling furniture at home - it meant that an hour later I let out a string of epitaphs that I can’t repeat here because it’s not considered “respectful, family friendly-language.” I had to redo about 10 steps to fix it. And the holes are now stretched out in some places because of the error. My advice to Ikea: go back to the old, symmetrical corner unit that you discontinued in 2017. My advice to purchasers: pay for assembly or find a way to completely insulate yourself from stimuli while you’re assembling this product.2
Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.
Which is why it stands to reason that our clothes storage shouldn't be exactly the same either. It's this idea that led us to develop the PAX/KOMPLEMENT clothes and shoes storage. Designed so that no matter what your passion, fashion or personality, your clothes and accessories will have a practical home.
The evolution of storage
It just takes a look through a photo album to see that some of the clothes we used to love might make us wonder 'what was I thinking?' today. And as the way we dress has changed over the years, so too has our approach to making storage at IKEA. That's why we've designed PAX/KOMPLEMENT clothes and shoes storage to adapt to how you would like to store your things, rather than trying to fit your clothes and accessories into an unsuitable space. An idea that's shaped its whole development.
The only similarity is difference
“Most people dream of having an organized wardrobe where they can see all their clothes and accessories. But that's where the similarities end", says Betina Tviis Larsson who developed the PAX/KOMPLEMENT system. Traditional storage often shoehorns you into doing things a set way, whether its folding t-shirts or sorting out a sock drawer – something Betina wanted PAX/KOMPLEMENT to step away from. "We didn't want to say there's a right way or wrong way to organize your clothes. If you want to hang your jeans by their belt loops we want you to be able to do it”, Betina says.
Multiple personality order
To get the design process off on the right foot, the design team focused on what kinds of storage do different people need. "We started by speaking to a lot different people in the team and around IKEA to try and determine different personalities and different needs", Betina explains. And what we ending up with was this a big inventory of preferences and types of things that needed to be stored". By designing around personalities, the team started to develop types of storage that would fit collectors and families just as easily as minimalists and people with very little space. "The whole idea that defined the project became, don't change your personality, change your wardrobe instead", Betina says.
Fitting in function
Bringing this research together, the result is a series of interior organizers that can be adapted for particular uses, from multi-purpose drawers and hangers, to specific features for everything from shoes, to pants, to jewelry. The idea is that each organizer can be mixed or repeated as you choose, so if you want to store your whole sneaker collection inside, or have everything hanging, you can. "I really like to use space in a good way", Betina says. "With this system you can tailor your one wardrobe frame into hundreds of combinations." So whether you're a 'super organizer' or a 'piler' type of clothes person we hope you'll be able to match your storage to suit your style.
Forests are critical for life on earth
Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.
100% wood from more sustainable sources
At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.
IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030
As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.
We accomplish more by working together
For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.
What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light and resource-efficient, yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
