I’m satisfied with this product.KathyI’m satisfied with this product.4
Very easy to assemble.TonyaI built out my entire closet using the system! I love it. Looks professional and customized to fit our needs.4
WardrobeJoyceThe back panel is too flimsy4
Nice wardrobe cabinet - double doorVinceNo doubt- machined perfectly. I got the 8ft. tall double door cabinet. I don’t like the back of the cabinet. It is super thin masonite taped together in the middle. Difficult to install well. I made support jigs to hold up the back panel while nailing it on. Otherwise it sags while you mail the back and you end up with a cupping in the back. No instructions of course on how to tackle this problem. Oh well, it’s the back, right? Some folks on Y.T. buy a 4x8 sheet of white masonite and cut to size. This looks the best, and offers some strength. THE most important thing is to make sure the cabinet is square before nailing on the back. It should measure 101” across opposite corners on the 93 1/8” tall PAX. IKEA could tell you this in the directions, but they don’t. Also, the skirt board across the bottom front and back are floppy. The are just held with 2 dowels on each side. I laid it down and put some glue blocks along the top. Good luck4
So sturdy and versatile!CarrieI love this system and all the different configurations you can make with it! I use it for all of my photography props and fabrics and it is so amazing!5
Finally a functional closetShawnWe both needed a new dresser, but had wanted a closet system with drawers instead of a dresser taking up space in the bedroom. The cost for the Pax was similar to the dresser so it was a no brainer. We did the pull out shoe drawer, four drawers and three shelves. It is perfect.5

Built in WardrobeRANDYBolted 5 PAX cabinets together to build a built in wardrobe.5
Made in Italy…IsabelVery high quality! Better than I expected. The only thing that I wish was sturdier is the back panel but if you install it correctly it’s plenty sturdy. The beige grey color of the wardrobe is beautiful!5
Easy assemblely!DawnEasy assemblely!5
Needs more trim optionsDavidOnce fully configured it looks great, except the bottom and connecting trim. Also, I would love if some kind of base with legs would officially be sold. Also, a better planned out system for routing lighting, and ensuring lighting can be installed above and under every possible insert would be great.3
Functional, VersatileHeidi M.I have purchased and assembled a total of nine tall PAX wardrobes in a duplex: in 2 laundry rooms, bathroom, guest bedroom, and inside a walk-in closet. I find them to be fairly easy to assemble, versatile, and very functional. I have utilized various styles of sliding or hinged doors, or just leaving it open, and I love adding basket drawers. All nine are TALL PAX wardrobes, so I have always assembled them standing upright, and inside the space where they will be used. (Particularly inside a closet, this was a bit of a challenge.) I am THRILLED with these wardrobes. My only complaint is the availability. I had some long waits to get the sizes I desired.5
This is our 3rd PaxThomasThis is our 3rd Pax unit bought over several years at 2 different houses. We love them. There are endless ways to design and use them.5
Great Product!DougAbsolutely love the product quality. What needs tremendous improvement is the operational systems to get the products into the consumers hands (ordering/back ordering, tracking, delivery).5

LOVE ThisRebeccaI live in a 120-year-old house and was lucky to have a 5-foot by six-foot closet but still not enough space for my husband. We decided to make a “closet on the landing of our stairs, and Pax combined with the Komplement accessories turned out to be perfect for that. I really loved being able to customize everything to my husband’s specific storage needs.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
