Our 1972 catalogue had the GOGO series as “fun-shaped tubes with extra-soft cushions". Named ÖNNESTAD in the Nytillverkad collection, the armchair and cushions are by Charlotte Rude and Hjördis Olsson-Une.

Part of the Nytillverkad collection where several IKEA classics have been given a new look.

This cushion set goes with ÖNNESTAD armchair frame and was described as "extra-soft cushions" when the GOGO series was launched in the 1972 catalogue. Designers: Charlotte Rude and Hjördis Olsson-Une.

In 1972, we used standard steel for the frame’s tubes, but the tubes are made of high-strength steel in this updated version, which cuts material consumption in half.

According to industry standards, a lightfastness level of 4 or higher is suitable for home use.This cover's ability to resist abrasion has been tested to handle 25,000 cycles. A cover that withstands 15,000 cycles or more is suitable for furniture that should withstand everyday use in the home.This seating furniture is tested and complies with relevant strength and durability standards. The tests simulate typical usage of the product and are based on use by persons weighing up to 242 lbs.

After finishing Konstfack University, designers Charlotte Rude and Hjördis Olsson-Une ended up in Älmhult at Elme glass factory in 1968, only a few hundred meters from our head office. So the duo was soon employed and produced one product after the other in a short time. The GOGO series was described in the 1972 catalogue as "fun-shaped tubes with extra-soft cushions". A fitting description, also for ÖNNESTAD armchair frame and cushion set in the Nytillverkad collection.
